Repsol-YPF has made a mega natural gas strike in the Patagonian province of Neuquen which could supply Argentina with energy for the next half century at least according to an online publication, lapoliticaonline. Read full article
This was declared by the governor of Neuquen a few years ago, when it became public knowledge that Argentina was buying gas from Bolivia. The governor then said that Neuguen had all the gas Argentina needed and that buying from Bolivia was not needed. Perhaps now CFK can officially announce it as credit for her administration.
Just fine here in the Falklands Xbox, Good ol' Union Jack's still flying. Don't know where you got the idea I needed cheering up from mind, all's well here mate, good news from our oilfieldsm, economys doing well in spite of your best efforts, future's looking great.

Totally offtopic but i was wondering. if argentina was to say that if the UK withdrew it's forces then Argentina would renounce it's claim, would you guys agree to it?
Interesting question, If the withdrawl of the armed forces was the only stipulation then I would say yes, why not, the big stumbling block however would be would Argentinians honour their part of the deal. Do we trust the Argies? no way.
Zethee, a good question, but I think that given the Arg track record of recent years the Islands would need a solid International Guarantee form a group of serious nations that they would use force if required to deal with any possible change back by a future Arg Govt.
The ONLY reason that British Forces are here in the S.Atlantic is to defend and protect the Islands against a known Agressor.
Currently military aggression is not that direct-but not far away and does still appear in harrassing civilian ships. But Economic agression is very clear.
It would take time and need to be a gradual policy by both sides- a gradual wind-down from the current stand-off Spread over 5 years or so at least.
