“Beginning of the end for Mercosur” warn Uruguayan industrialists

The chairman of the Uruguayan Chamber of Industry, Washington Burghi, warned that Argentina’s decision to restrict imports could be “the beginning of the end” for the Mercosur. However Argentine ambassador in Montevideo said decisions are targeted against Asian imports with the purpose of defending Argentine jobs. Read full article

    LOL - not only have argentina pissed off the US with their seizure of US military equipment, but it looks like they are now pissing of their neighbouring countries (that they call friends). I guess they would be wise not to rely on their nighbouring countries support so much over the falklands now, as i do not think Uruguay or any other country that feels hard done by, by argentina, will be in the mood to support argentina now.

If you don't want to be part of Mercosur anymore then leave now but stop giving excuses Mr Washington! I'm sure uncle Sam will treat you right.

    they can have you as a replacement when the british pull out .
