Girls just want to have fun… Girls just want to have fun…

After flights in Buenos Aires were cancelled time after time on Friday, '80s singing icon Cyndi Lauper took to the airport's announcement system to perform for her fellow stranded passengers.

“Ok, so chow Argentina. At airport.. So many delays,” Lauper, whose terminal tunes included her 1983 classic “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” tweeted March 4. “Wound up being announced, wound up sing[ing] two songs for airport. A first for me. Crazy day.”

In video footage of her impromptu concert, Lauper is seen belting out her hit anthem while fellow travellers show their true colours by singing along.

“My life is a movie sometimes. Or today I just woke up in a comedy. I laughed a lot,” Lauper later tweeted. “So much for Don't Cry No More Argentina,., Fun times.”

Lauper is currently on tour. She was travelling from Argentina to Santiago, Chile, when several flights were delayed due to an extended holiday weekend.
