    This is an arab gift, perhaps.

    Beware arabs bearing gifts. . . . . or was it Greeks, or Trojans?

    On the basis of 'You never get something for nothing' what has CFK given away to the arabs?

    @2 I must say, your country doesn't look much better: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1182373/Welcome-binge-Britain-Polish-photographer-documents-years-drunken-revelry-Cardiff.html

    @3 Having in mind the principle that 'one never gets something for nothing', instead of making silly remarks about Arab investment you should consider that foreign investment is a benefit not only for the country that receives it, but also for the one that is pouring the money in, whether the investor is Arab or not. That said, Arabs are not know to attach strings or humiliating conditions to their investment deals: the US is.

    Do you think Frank is the Glenn Beck Mini Me that used to comment on these boards until recently? I don't know, Frank still looks way too balanced for that.

    Remember, this is an announcement made by the K government. I can remember when a similar announcement was made that China was going to put 15 billion dollars into investments in Argentina, and China later stated that the whole announcement was not true. And yes, there never was a Chinese investment.

    Jerry, this is an ongoing investment...dates from 2006..
    Article: Dubai Ports World to expand Latin America operations

    Article from:Al Bawaba Article date:August 7, 2006

    Dubai Ports World recently revealed plans to expand its operations significantly in Argentina, which is regards as a key emerging market and potentially lucrative investment destination. The move by the Dubai-based terminal operator will significantly increase the company's presence in Latin America.

    DP World will reportedly invest some $100 million to expand facilities at the port in Buenos Aires, Argentina, according to Khaleej Times. In addition, is will look at investing in a new mega port and developing three free zones in the country.”

    Nope...... Frank the Yank is not Fredbdc

    He is another angry Yank.

    This Yank bragged some months ago about sailing from Buenos Aires to Malvinas and back in his yacht, without informing the port authorities, as Argentinean law requires……

    He reported later, that the fine for such an feat is around 7.000 U$S

    I can only guess how he found out :-)

    @think

    Yeah, that is a story a Yankee would tell. Most fables told by an American man on how he spent time in a foreign region have the following elements:
    - Juvenile displays of material wealth, for example, yachts or Rolex watches: check;
    - The illegal or barely-legal adventure that is purported to show how cool and daring the story-teller is: check;
    - The part in which he narrates how he managed to get the exotic sexy young native woman at the end of the day: oops, not check! But perhaps he'll come out with something like that in the future.

    Think, you really are, at the end of the day, incredibly stupid.
    1/ Frank is not a yank
    2/ I have never bragged about sailing from BA to the Falklands and back because I have never sailed from BA to the Falklands and back
    3/ as a result of 2 I have never been fined by anyone.

    The issue of the fine is common knowledge n its latest dispute with the U.K. (this time over oil drilling exploration), any yacht planning to arrive or depart from Ushuaia may have to sign an undertaking not to visit the Falkland Islands.

    “Permits for the Falklands, South Georgia and South Orkneys

    Recently, Argentina has reasserted their claim to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands. They have also always claimed a section of the Antarctica Peninsula as part of their territorial waters. All vessels intending to sail to or from the Falklands, South Georgia and South Orkneys must apply for and obtain permission from the Argentine government or they will be fined $7000USD upon arrival in Argentina, or risk impoundment of vessel.
    All vessels must apply, cruisers or charter vessels.

    Updated December 2010.”

    @Kiwiarg # 21

    “Kiwi is a bird but they they do not fly!” - Frank in post #20 said they were flightless birds, he never said they can fly as flightless means they can not fly.

    “What is your original country? Why you are so mysterious, Man!!!” Why are you so intrigued? And not only that what has it got to do with you anyway. If Frank hasn't or doesn't want to reveal where he is from, then thats his choice and is no concern of yours. Perhaps it is to do with his job and for all we know it may well that. Point is what does it matter, as it doesn't change anything about what he has said in his comments on this site. So sorry but where Frank, or anyone for that matter is from originally is non of your business, all that matters in these comment pages is what they say as fact and that of their opinion.

    @22. This is a good example of how 'the big RG lie' works. A while back I picked Think up on something that suggested he knew 4/5ths of not very much about something. So he decided that I was a north american ... for absolutely no reason... and starts hammering away at this 'Frank the Yank' thing.... whenever he has no rational answer and his debating skills have again been called into question out it comes again...
    So as we see he repeats it often enough and all the RGs and diego's now accept it as fact although it has no basis ... bit like the whole 'Malvinas' thing really.
    Sad innit.
    Reason for not mentioning it? It has no relevance and would only have the diegos saying...'well in 1305 your lot did bad things to the ungobungo tribe' and then wander off topic as they do so often...

    @ Think i assume you meant “Vincit” Omnia Veritas - “truth conquers all” Which is an inaccurate statement, as truth does not conquer all - at all. Seriously getting your latin wrong again think, and you claim to be a latin american eh.

    Your misguided assumption that Frank is an american is nothing but childish that does nothing but question your maturity. I have seen alot of your posts, although some of what you post is logical and make sense, alot is aload of complete Tosh, that only an idiot with a iq of -10 would “think” off. You clearly fail to live upto your name sake, as you clearly do not “think” before posting all those posts of yours that are full of Tosh.

    @Frank #23 Totally agree with you, they often go off topic by posting irrelevant issues based on where people are from when they are unable to provide a constructive counter argument - in other words they revert to nit picking thinking it makes them look good to the readers, when really they just look like an idiot unable to prove or back up their argument.

    #25 Lol yep he is, though i would have said something alot worser than dickhead.

    Something stronger such as 'Revisionist Dickhead'?
    He knows and I know and he knows I know that the statement he made - and that I picked up on - was that that 'the Magellan Strait was shallow and of no commercial significance'.
    This was back when the Anja was denied the international right of free passage.

    I see he says that he is a first generation RG and is a WASP where the A doesn't stand for Anglo... maybe its 'A for Aryan'.

    Getting back to the original thread.. I first read that BA was dog shit capital of the world in a Lonely Planet guide....

    As for “Drink your milk and ovaltine and check the name.” well i have a glass of milk every morning, i do not drink ovaltine as i much prefer a good old british cup of tea - Something the islanders no doubt also enjoy as well as a good british pint of real british ale.
