Singapore based Reflect Geophysical has been selected by Uruguay’s state oil company Ancap to carry out a 2D seismic survey in the country’s Punta del Este and Pelotas offshore basins. Read full article

    2D survey is good for initial investigations and selection of drilling sites.
    3D is better.
    4D is better still, if some variable changes over time - eg. oil extraction and/or CO2 injection (CCS - Carbon capture & storage, not the great Alexis Korner rock group).
