“Moyano whose support for the Kirchner’s couple has been crucial is now pressing President Cristina Fernandez for the vice-president post in her presidential re-election ticket for the coming October election.
“We workers want to reach power and this fact annoys many people, but that’s our aim and we will not desist,” Moyano continued.”

So, this Argentinian union leader under investigation for international money-laundering and corruption
    (i) supports CFK party in government
(ii) insists on being her vice-president
(iii) wants power for the people (read: unions)

This is redolent of Jimmy Hoffa (jury-tampering, bribery, fraud, prison),
the Teamsters Union (mafia, corruption, extortion) and
    Richard Nixon (impeachment).

It's like Hoffa standing for high office as Nixon's Vice President !

Well, politics i a murky business all over the world. To get power you need money and support, and to get that you have to make compromises.

Obama is owned by Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan (even more so now the US Supreme Court has sold the USA to corporations), Cameron is owned by the amoral Hedge Fund Managers, Naoto Kan is owned by TEPCO, etc. In Argentina the lobbyists are at least not global, totally unaccountable corporations, and Cristina has more backbone than most other leaders.
I like the fact she annoys the Neo Con corporate globalists.

Arguably Argentina is less corrupt than the US and Europe in that the corruption is local in Argentina, whereas in the “West” the politicians are owned by foreigners so you're screwed.
