Why should the US care? They have passed so many laws against illegal immigration and deported so many Mexicans they're running out of people to tend to their fields anyway. Entire towns in south-western US have been deserted.

They're not willing to work the fields but they want the biggest share of the market. Just sit it out US, we'll take over for you.

Free Trade Area status is pretty meaningless unless Tariff restrictions are removed.
The US could start loosening up trade arrangements by removing all tariffs on export products from the Mercosur, CAN and the non-aligned S.A. nations (Joke).

Unasur will eventually trade as a bloc, and this will be predominantly with the USA, with the EU or with China.

If the USA want real dominant trading bilaterality with the S.A. bloc Unasur, then the bid needs to be bigger and better than that of the EU or China.

President Obama, lets deal soon or the deals WILL be done elsewhere !
