It's important for us to learn from our history, to understand our history, but not be trapped by it because we've got a lot of challenges now and, even more importantly, we have challenges in the future that we have to attend to.” On that same note, any president from a government that owes money to the IMF could say, I can't speak (or pay) for all the previous governments mistakes from the past (so we shouldnt be accountable for paying for our father's debts). I can speak certainly to only our borrowings and debts of the present and the future. It's important for us to learn from our economic history, to understand our history, but not be trapped by our economic history and certainly not be accountable for our economic history because we've got a lot of challenges now and, even more importantly, we have challenges in the future that we have to attend to, spending our money on our infrastructure is more important than paying it to the IMF paper pushers that bank of our past governments mistakes.
Mar 22nd, 2011 - 08:07 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Why would Chile expect an apology from the US when they're more than happy sucking up to them? Hell they fly F-16, they probably even feel lucky that way.
Mar 23rd, 2011 - 01:23 am - Link - Report abuse 0Poor Chileans, they think sucking up to the US and the UK just to go against Argentina will benefit them.

Mar 23rd, 2011 - 10:49 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Same Chileans that clean your toilet I presume, you treat them in the same way Americans treat Mexicans. You use them, to cook at your restaurants, to clean for you, to do anything you don't want to do... and meanwhile to divide us, you're scum.
Mar 24th, 2011 - 03:32 am - Link - Report abuse 0On the contrary Martina, Chileans are very much a respected and equal part of Falklands society.
Mar 24th, 2011 - 05:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The toilet cleaning & lower grade jobs are reserved specificaly for the small Argentine community. As for dividing you, well Argentina has done a pretty good job of that with years of conflict and attempted land theft...Oh nothing new then.
