Doesn't matter. Still won't buy anything from South America. Especially food. Why pay to be poisoned?

It is unclear whether the EU have been negotiating with the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) or with just Colombia and Peru operating outside the CAN Agreements.

How do Ecuador and Bolivia feel about this?

And does this give free rein for all South American countries to develop their own bi-lateral deals outside South America?

    - thus destroying the trading integrity of CAN and Mercosur - and undermining the status of Unasur itself.

“The peoples of Latin America are at a serious disadvantage with the treaty,” he concluded.

The farmers of Colombia and Peru are at a serious disadvantage with the treaty. As I typed it before, plain and simple, Free traders cannot compete with bogus free traders. In North America, NAFTA is a great example.

you may well be right Fido.
this giant will grow far bigger and more powerfully than today,
all those who laugh and scoff at the EU super block, may well be forced to eat those words, I don’t like the EU, and want out, so does millions of people, but very clever scrupulous and very ambitious people want to see a Untied States of Europe, and if they get their own way [and its very possible they might] the EU will overtake the USA and in the future rival that of china, and those in power know this, Europe is the hub and melting pot of power in the world, the American squandered hers, and china is using hers to buy influence every were they can, this is why without a doubt the EU with its influences will slowly but surly grow in south America, whether they like it or not, south America will become the bread basket of the world, and its all up for grabs, she is about to find out what its like to be exploited , one way or another she will be carved up and sold...... rubbish you may think. their are powerful men in Europe that have very different ideas, time will tell, mmm
