Cardozo: ”Whoever thinks the truth is vengeance has much to hide”.

I think this Commission has ALL the features of Vengeance, and as I had no involvement, I have nothing to hide.

What is an Amnesty that can be reversed at whim?
What is a 30 year clamp on official documents that can be unclamped at whim?

What is a Commission that only addresses one side of the issue?

What if the next Government in 3 years time creates their own Commission to pass vengeance sentences on the other side?

I see the use of the term Truth Commission says it all - whose truth will be acceptible?

What happens to people whose 'truth' has beed determined?

What attempt has there been to adopt best practice in these matters - Mandela's Truth and RECONCILIATION Commission.

If Brasil wants closure then the military leaders AND the rebels/freedom fighters/international terrorists should both be before the Bar.
Each individual could then admit to the deadly deeds they undertook, and with remorse, should be party to national reconciliation.

Mandela has shown how human beings should behave in such circumstances and, if Dilma wants to expose the Truth then she and her colleagues should be similarly spotlighted.
