February tourist arrivals in Argentina increased 9.3% over a year ago
However the number of Argentines travelling abroad was higher The amount of tourists that arrived in Argentina during February increased 9.3% compared to the same month of 2010 and totalled 203,766 people, according to a government report.
The Indec national statistics bureau said that the expense of tourists was of 264.9 million dollars, 14.3% increase in comparison with February 2010.
During February 2011, a total of 235,252 Argentine citizens travelled abroad, 26.3% higher than the figures reported on February 2010.
Total expense of Argentine citizens abroad increased 14% to 282.6 million US dollars.
The information is gathered from the arrivals and departures at Ezeiza and Jorge Newbery airports, which are the main routes of access route to Argentina.
