In November 2010, journalist Peter Preston set out his opinions on the future of the Falkland Islands. He urged Her Majesty’s Government to “Ditch The Falklands” and to start discussing the possibility of shared sovereignty with Argentina. Read full article

As long as you wish to remain British, then the British government should get of its backsides and put Argentina in its place, over the illegal embargo and blockade, rather that shoving its head in the sand and hoping it will go away,
For it may be easier to put your foot down with Argentina now, rather than after trouble starts later, but that’s only my opinion,
Argentina is like a 1,000year old mummy holding on tightly.
All wrapped up, and nowhere to go ?

“the Islands are 100 percent economically self-sufficient, with a highly successful fishing industry”

A highly successful ILLEGAL OVERFISHING industry, nothing more than exploitation of Argentine resources.

“and oil and gas exploration being undertaken in Falkland Islands waters”

An oil fiasco that produced nothing but water.

“On 23 October this year, Argentina goes to the polls”

Doesn't matter who goes to the polls, no Argentine president has ever renounced to our sovereign right over Malvinas. No Argentine president would be any less resolute than the current one.

    The “Falklands” are THE UK.

    The “Falklands” are A COLONY.

The “Falklands” are the gateway to more than 5 MILLION SQUARE KILOMETERS OF SOVEREIGN ARGENTINE TERRITORY CLAIMED BY THE UK… INCLUDING ANTARCTICA.

THE CORRECT NAME, IS ISLAS MALVINAS, ARGENTINA.

The author complains that the island's inhabitants' perspectives and desires aren't being considered........that's because neither UK nor Argentina care about the “Falklanders”, they only care about the resources around it. This is a battle over land, water, minerals, fish. The island inhabitants are just peeons in the middle.

Really, then how could they be on the C24 list?

I think you'll find that's British territory claimed (rather unsuccessfully) by Argentina.

THE CORRECT NAME in Spanish IS ISLAS MALVINAS. The English name for the place is the Falkland Islands.

    1. Dagos are liars.

The Decolonisation Committee is irrelevent ! It can only suggest Resolutions to go forward via the 4th Committee to the General Assembly. Hasn't been very successful in the last decade or so has it?

What is koolaid? Certainly not a British drink, sounds faintly American to me.

Aww the dagos are bleating again, somebody pet them on the head and tell them they are a good dago; they keep trying to hump the Falkland Islands, but the chains ensure they can't reach, so while absent minded they piss up their own kennel, and scratch at all the wrong doors, indeed any door other than the one clearly marked ICJ.

Best thing would be to put the dago down, since we smacked its arse in 1982 it has been a little bar steward, but the muzzle of it's own Peronist development has kept the dago toothless since then, and it can't find its little dago way, best to pity all the fleas it carries with it.

    I love this part Martin:

“In some ways, Argentina has much to thank Britain for: a war which led to her independence. Furthermore, some of the British, and Irish, prisoners-of-war from 1806 and 1807 decided to stay and took part, voluntarily, in fighting the Spanish military machine elsewhere in South America, securing the independence also of Chile, Peru and Ecuador.”

So the Islanders have much to thank Argentina for: A war in 1982 that gave them economy progress, better education, tourism, attention from Britain, citizenship, etc. Wow! look how many things we have done for the Islanders.

And Britain has a lot to thank Argentina: We waved their debt, we provided them with food when they were starving, we have created their modern buildings, etc.

I think we should invade them 2 more times to be equals so they can thank us even more.

Some new punctuation marks in Brits history made by Argies would be good I think.

    @Redhoyt
“NiceButDim - we won the won in 1982 ..... the important one!”

Important for you may be, Argentina had many wars in history and only one lost.

True, if it wasn't for the war they wouldn't even be British citizens. But I'm not as ridiculous as they are about the fall of the Argentine military junta, their citizenship and their improved economy was a consequence... not an objective on our part. Just like the fall of the military junta... not their objective.

Strange how you seem to think that we are a colony because we are british. Perish the thought but if you owned them they would still be a group of islands detached from any mainland and would effectivly still be a colony.

The hard facts are that The Falkland have always been disputed but we will proove to the world that we the Islanders are the rightfull owners. That said whay are you also claiming the soiuth georgia and south sanwich islands they have always been in british ownership. Argentina apart from a short period in 1982 have never inhabited those islands. Fact is your Country is greedy and while it clearly cannot look after her own people they want even more. Fact also that your lot could not survive our climatic conditions. Why that was made abundantly clear when thousands of conscripts shown to the world wre half dead while they were here. Yet our British forces romped in very high spirit right accross the country ( oops sorry Colony) and were fit and strong enough to complete their mission. This dispute will never go away as long as there is this wierd Country called Argentina I know it and you know it. So why the hell don't you just get off your whinging block and accept us for the culture we are . I often wonder would your country be so ready to bully us had we been North Americans. Chances are you would be groveling to them for assistance isn;t that what you already do. Default on debts seem to come to mind.

Oh and I do know the meaning of a dago it is something we used to joke about with our chillean friends so I sugest you might ask your neighbour on that one.

No you cannot claim to be polite because in my lifetime your people have been anything but polite. You simply cannot live alongside any neighbour without putting pressur on them. Most of your neighbours have been pressurised into siding with you lot but of course you may not be educated enough to actually know that.

I personally do not care how your Country came into bieng nor mine for that matter the fact is I was born on these Islands so I have a birth right as I suspect you do in your country. So as far as I am concerned and the vast majority of my kelper people we are in fact the rightfull people to live on and own this land. Just like you done when you colonised ( oops that word again) Argentina when your ancestors brutely murdered the indigionous people of that land. Yes I do read my History and I do know it very well. We have never lied in our History making unlike your loot thay lied to you as children and that is what I feel more sorry for.

There happens to be a lot of very decent Argentines who share our views they are the ones who refused to be brain washed. Fact is this whole issue is just a political one and I am sure you know that too.

Your Country should not have sent innocent young men to die here or cause the death of other innocents. I notice in this paper that Unasur wants to achieve a “South American continent united and in peace by 2020”
You really think that is going to happen when Argentina is right in the middle waving it's sabre.
The one thing that could sort this whole issue out is direct dialogue with one another but agin your powers refuse to recognise us don't they.

Is it right that the British Government continue to pay (mostly English) British farmers to work on the lands on the Islands in order to uphold the idea that the Democratic wish of these people is to remain British? they are hardly likely to want to anything else!”

I see your paul and pat and raise you Carlos Escude

Why The Falkland Islands will never be Argentine

    By Professor Carlos Escude
    2003

It is sufficient to talk to any Buenos Aires cabdriver to understand that the Argentine people know that the Falkland Islands will not be ‘recovered’ by Argentina. The only locals who appear not to understand this basic fact of life are a group of war veterans, a small bunch of nationalist fundamentalists, and practically the entire lot of Argentine politicians.

Needless to say, however, in so doing the politicians are cheating and lying. The great majority of these politicians know that the Falklands will not be Argentine again, but they choose not to acknowledge this for fear of losing votes.

Indeed, within Argentina’s ‘political class’ there are two types of lies regarding the Falklands: the benign and the malign ones. The Falklands discourse of the late foreign minister Guido Di Tella was plagued with paradigmatic examples of ‘benign lies’. He wanted Argentines to believe that Argentina was going to recover the Falkland Islands through peaceful means, ‘seducing’ the Islanders while accumulating a sufficient number of national successes so as to actually make it convenient for the average Islander to accept Argentine sovereignty. Di Tella did not accept the Islanders’ right to self-determination, but he was conscious of the fact that if Argentina did not succeed in making itself an attractive country, it would be impossible to get the British Government and Parliament to accept a transfer of sovereignty.

Paul Taylor is stating an opinion and a question, nothing wrong with that, in Britain (unlike in some countries) people are allowed to say what they want.

Pat Lee is simply wrong, the British government does not pay anyone work on the lands, nor are the farmers 'mostly English', anyway farming is only a small part of the economy.

    Hope that helps boys.

    Hit a nerve then :-)

    a billion statements from Brits

and i told you a million times not to exaggerate

Whey then is this malign lie consistently repeated when the issue of the Falklands is debated? The answer would appear to be that, in Argentina, a perverse political dynamics is at work whereby professional politicians fear that to say the ‘painful’ truth about the Falklands (ie. that they will never again be Argentine) will make them lose votes to politicians who continue to engage in the fantasy that the Islands will be recovered. If politician A admits publicly that the Falklands will not be recovered, he or she will lose votes to politician B, who by continuing with the lie will succeed in reaping political profits from primitive popular emotions.

The end result, of course, is to the detriment of the country itself. But when politicians consistently sell their souls to the popular vote, that is of little or no import.

@41 Another interesting comment, this time from England:

“The Falklands were seized for Britain in January 1833 during an era of dramatic colonial expansion. Captain John Onslow of HMS Clio had instructions ”to exercise the rights of sovereignty“ over the islands, and he ordered the Argentinian commander to haul down his flag and withdraw his forces. Settlers from Argentina were replaced by those from Britain and elsewhere, notably Gibraltar. Britain and Argentina have disagreed ever since about the rights and wrongs of British occupation, and for much of the time the British authorities have been aware of the relative weakness of their case.
Regardless of the islanders' wishes, the issue of sovereignty will at some point have to get back on the agenda”

    50,

Hm... Jorge Luis Borges was a self-adoring idiot who learned English before he learned Spanish. His opinion was not highly regarded, except among those individuals who were equally indifferent.

Not much else to say about these stupid Kelper farmers either and their simple minded “sweeping statements of truth”....like “Jerry - it's OUR comb”.

They don't know anything other than what they want, dumb parrots.

Quit talking about war Redhot, as if it was yours alone to declare. Go play war strategy with your other senile demented friends.

And Westis... quit trying to make it sound as if Argentina would take away your home in some horrific mass genocide, exaggeration is your only resource and it's pathetic. If anything you'll better off, you'll be fully linked to South America which is WHERE YOU F@CKING LIVE.

    @stick up your junta

I love your power of logic and analysis.

In your first paragraph you say that Argentinean people know that “the Falkland Islands will not be ‘recovered’ by Argentina” and that the cause of Malvinas is just a matter of a small bunch of veterans and nationalists.

But in the second paragraph you say that politicians pursue with the cause because they are afraid of the lost of votes. ????

So can you tell me how a small bunch of veterans and nationalist can intimidate any politician in Argentina to think that will lose votes? This is really stupid, the politician should be member of the party SboVNoCfM (Small bunch of Veterans and Nationalists for the cause of Malvinas) and even though with this much cannot form a legal party in Argentina. Ha ha

So according with you UK never was in the F/M islands before because technically didn’t exit

As we can see once again when Marcos loses an argument and you publicly embarrass him he resorts to personal insults. First it used to be “you have the brain of a sheep” and now it is a dig at my wife. Well Marcos, the other Dr Beef (yes my wife also has a PhD - in literature) is Welsh and prefers her men strong and capable. She doesn't like cowards who run like hell when about to face a Para with a bayonet.

Be free to insult my mother as well but at least have the decency to dig her up first and insult her to her face.

Clearly nothing is sacred to Argies, Marcos is a clear example of the cowardice that is part of the Argentine identity.

The UK may not have existed in title until the early 1800s but the political formation has been around for a thousand years.

On the other hand Argentina did not exist in 1806 or 1807. Only in a revolutionary mind's eye in 1810. Not as much more than BA even in the 1830's.

As far as we are concerned, Argentina did not appear until 1825.

You hardly exist even now !

I have no idea which islands you are refering to. ”Back' suggests something you've had before, but the Falkland Islands Argentina has never owned - so you cannot mean them.

    http://answers.yourdictionary.com/answers/travel/when-did-argentina-become-country.html

When Did Argentina Become a Country?

“When did Argentina become a country? Argentina officially became an independent nation in 1816. Of course, Argentina existed long before it became an independent country. The history of the country, and the gradual development of the nation’s identity, is both interesting and complex.”

    “Argentina became a country:

    * The capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires, was first founded in 1536, so this can be one answer to when Argentina started to become a country.
 Argentina signed a declaration in 1816 and became the first country to gain official independence in Latin America.”

I hope this clarifies your doubts, one thing is the official declaration of independence and other is when a country or a nation is formed. So doesn’t matter was our name at that time VRR de la plata, United province, Argentina or Argelina. We kicked your @ss many times and we will do it again and again its you role in this game.

So mates the score is still 3 Argies 1 Brits.

Playing with formal names will not help you to understand reality.

And for the cowards running when see a bayonet I remember you guys that Uki forces lost 260 men in battlefield, 777 were wounded, 7 warships was sank, 25 helicopters lost, 11 fighters lost, 115 prisones were took, etc, etc.

What anyone in the world will call a bloody nose. Sniff, sniff...

Look how easy Brits surrender when seeing a professional Argie soldier.

Oh, now because you had a national identity in 1806/1807 that means Argentina beat Britain. That's really scraping the barrel NicoDim.

The FACT is no such thing called “Argentina” existed in 1806/1807. It was an invasion by Britain of Spanish territory, so nothing to do with Argentina. Oh and it makes no difference when BsAs was founded, because in 1806/1807 BsAs was a Spanish city, in the Spanish Empire, belonging to Spain.

You can spin it whichever way you like, it doesn't change the FACTS!

And most Falkland Islanders have an ancestry in the FI going back much further than most Argies, who are mostly 3 generations fresh off the boat. More Argie doublethink...

What's more they lost defending the best defensive position in the history of warfare. they've garrisoned islands a few hundred miles off their coast, they've had weeks to prepare, shipping in whatever munitions, troops and hardware they need, their opponent is on the other side of the world and any retaliation will have to be a small task force that'll HAVE to sail within striking distance of their mainland. A girls choir could have successfully defended the Falkland Islands under those conditions......and yet they lost.

Are the Kelpers stupid, as the lovely, gentle, caring and peaceful Argentines like to put it...?.

I believe (funny enough) that it is the Argentines who are the stupid ones. Their government continue its campaign to destroy the Falklands economy and decrease the standard of living to a similar low level enjoyed in Argentina. Agitating the inhabitants of these islands and creating many more generations of dislike and mistrust towards Argentina. This agitated and (so-called) “stupid” population are the only people who can settle the dispute of ownership of the Falkland Islands through the human right of self-determination (which is granted to everyone on the planet). Yet Argentina continue to go down the path of pushing the Falklands away and pushing them closer to Britain. The reasons reasons behind this Argentine political strategy must be either (1) complete stupidity or (2) be fully aware that the “Malvinas” can never be recovered, and therefore must appear strong in the eyes of the voters. Because lets face facts, the more Argentina steps up its campaign of isolating the Falklands, the further its gets from its final objective.

Britain has sistematically been a colonial and imperialist power ever since its inception and especially after they got domain of the high seas when they defeated the Spanish Armada in the naval battle of Trafalgar. Since then, it has been the British ships and pirates who built a huge colonial empire overtaking the both the Spanish and the Portuguese.
By the years 1800-1820, the Spanish Empire was crumbling to pieces and the British chess-playing guys in London knew exactly what they had to do: either entering South America by force or by a system of cunning alliances with one S.A. country or another at different times. Always with one clear goal in mind: “securing the rich natural resources and free trade with the Spanish American colonies.”
Guyana, Belice, Trinidad y TObago are cases where they secured sources by force. Their policy of “Divide and Exploit” the Birtish applied whenever direct use of force was not possible. Examples: after failing to invade B.A. in 1806-07, they stooped to the eastern side of the River Plate, and “stirred the pot” in the Province of Uruguay helping it become detached and independent from Argentina. Then they stirred the pot to trigger the independence of the Republic of Corrientes-Entre Rios, then, with the southern states of Brazil, they later helped the BRazilians gain territory at the expense of Argentina´s territory. Later the British stirred the pot to trigger the Triple Allinace War in which Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay joined forces (backed by British interests) to destroy the rising Paraguayan industry. They crippled that country to scraps and since then they havent recovered much.
Later the British helped and backed the Chileans in the Guano War in 1879-1883, forcing Argentine neutrality in exchange for the 1881 Treaty of limits between Arg-Chi by which Chileans secured the Western part of Patagonia.
The Roca-Runciman Pact in 1933 is another piece of evidence of the Brits domination of Latin America. Malvinas is another

Well done Gotey. You've just pointed out the bleeding obvious. That Britain used to be a world and colonial power. What you then neglect to point out is that the British Empire came to an end decades ago. Is there still a British Empire today? No, of course not. Oh and before you jump in with 14 small overseas territories as your “proof”. Every single one of them has freely chosen to retain the British link. All the others, which wanted independence have got it.

I wouldn't go bleating too much about the Roca-Runciman Treaty, Argentina was the 4th wealthiest country on the planet when that was signed.

    72@Westistbest.
You are correct I made a mistake. The name Spanish Armada was used to refer to the 1588 war around the British Isles and this was the key battle that decided the domains of the high seas. The 1805 Trafalgar battle was between the British navy and a SPanish-French navy which defended the interests of Napoleon, and ultimately that British defeat would make it impossible for Napoleon to invade Britain, and instead focused on getting domination of continental Europe with his mighty army, of course, evyone knows how he ended up, defeated by the Russian winter and later in Waterloo by the British army.

Anyway, you missed my point. The central part of my argument is that once Britain secured the high seas at the beginning of the 1800s, they focused on “a systematic policy of divide and exploit, stirring the pot in all of South America whenever direct invasion was not possible” Lord Palmerston said, “let them have their flags and anthems, we will grab them by the economic necks” AND as I said in another blog, the British were successful.

It seems that the Argentines hold Britain for every negative action they have been involved with in the last 200 years and therefore base their 'legitimate' claim on the Falklands upon this...

But what about the Junta of 2 decades ago...? The Argentine posters in here always claim that todays Argentina cannot be held accountable or blamed for that period....but that was only 2 decades ago...you want us not to hold that against you while you hold 200 years of history over Britain's head...?

The Argies hypocracy is laughable. I cant believe how idiotic they are. How can you have a debate with people so deluded and hypocritical. It is like arguing with a child, you know youre right, but the child is so ignorant to the facts and assumes they are right.

And what is best is that they are so blind to the facts they will continue to live in their world of fantasy. Just because they cannot understand what an Overseas Territory is. Laughable.

Which Iraq War Marcos? Was it the 1991 war which Argentina was involved in, or the 2003 one in which the UK was one of a coalition of many countries, ie not acting alone.

And Libya? Once again the UK a part of a coalition, not acting alone. I suppose you think shooting up and killing your own people is fine? I guess you would, considering that's exactly what you Argies did to yourselves.

Why the Falklands want to stay British
You know these comment spots always seem to deviate away from the actual issue. Is it because most of us like a good whine or is it that no one wants to face the facts.

Ask any Falkland Islander why they want to remain British and you will get the same answer. They have the right to choose their allegiance and as it happens Great Britain and her people are truly democratic and believe in our right to determine our own destiny.

You could say the exact same think about any Argentines. They too wish to keep their own Country even though they took it by brute force. THAT is where we Islanders are different , we never killed or removed any indigenous people to get our Country. No our forefathers peaceably pioneered this great little place for their future children of which I happen to be one of the fifth generation. So it is useless to ask me anything with reference as to why we want to remain British. We are British.
To also put the record straight our ancestors were not implanted here as the Argentines keep suggesting. They just like the voyagers of a new Argentina were adventurers who took up a challenge where no others cared to go.
Early on in this debate I said there were many decent Argentine citizens who share our belief and I was also asked how old I was well I am in my late fifties and the reason many argentine critics do not believe that some of their kind actually care how we exist is because the people who care dare not speak out loudly in their own Country because they fear their very existence. That is because Argentina has no democracy where we do.

What would be nice is to be able to read the Mercopress articles and all comments that actually related to the subject. Clearly there are a few who trawl the comments sections just to stir up a load of hatred and that to me clearly demonstrates why we have such a huge political long running issue.

These debates will likely be still going long after another five generat

“Because they don't want to be bloody Argentine”. and who would? In case you islanders haven't guessed it yet 99% of the population of ARG would sell a kidney for a British passport and the chance to get the hell out.
These weeks are very emotional for allot of people on both sides of the water down there and up in the UK. I just wish my fellow Argentines who decide to comment on this site would do so in a repsectfull way and (try) not mix football commentary with a serious conflict that left several men dead and the lives of thousands of peoples ripped apart. That alone deserves an apology. Bravado of a 20 something year old that picked up bits and bobs from here and there must clearly be to blame. It's embarrassing! We don't all think like these knobs!

Can't answer for the Argentinians but in the case of the British Government it's probably because they see no need to, they are confident that they have the right to the sovereignty of the Falklands and and have the ability to defend it so what would be the point? the idea's often used as a gambit on sites like this but AFAIK that's as far as it goes.

Rodrigo, the Argentine Government won't go to the ICJ because they'll lose.

Now I know you said that you didn't want that answer, but the opposite - they won't go to the ICJ because they'll win seems rather more implausible.

In reality the Argentine Government has to have assessed its chances if it did take its case to the ICJ. That would tend to suggest that the Government lawyers have raised doubts about Argentina's chances of success. Sufficient for Argentina not to want to risk it.

So there is a strong probablity that the answer that you did not want is in fact, the answer !

2- Are the most used by terrorist around the globe. the multi colored pot of Uki do you know?
3- They can be easy bought for a few quids in Britain and if 2800 quids is a lot for you. You can go always to the Italian mafia they made them for some euros and a photo of Maradona in Napoli. Haha
4- There are more than 20 millions of fake Brits passports in circulation just in Ukistan (ex Britain if you are not aware of)
5- A full lot of Africans, Asians, etc are travelling around the globe with Brits passports seems not so difficult to obtain for an Argie I guess.
6- If you are going to sell your organs for a passport I recommend you to buy a German or Italian may be Spanish will be also good enough and if you are broke a Portuguese passport will good enough for your expectations. What seems to be very low after reading your post.

Why an Argie will sell his organs for a Brit passport when they have granted passports and citizenship in other European countries countries?

Wow seems your are so lucky and you would not have to sale anything to get one haha

I have to admit that every now and then my reasoned debate fails after a few beers, but then I'm only human and not perfect, and react to some particularly crappy claim or assumptions made by the Malvinist posters. However, I like to think that the majority of what I write is reasoned, and that even when I fall into the trap its usually laced with humour, although sometimes this could be described as alternative, or 'black' humour.

It is refreshing to meet a reasonable and intelligent Argentine poster in here, there have been a small number, but I think the pressure of being attacked by their countrymen for displaying what they feel as your actions being a less than patriotic stance, usually chases them away, and that is sad. You will have the double blow here of actually living amongst us in the UK, you'll be accused of needing to tow the line due to some sort of local pressure, of selling yourself, or some other ridiculous accusation.

It is true that reasonable Argentine posters living in Argentina are targetted by these extremists, and that there may be an unwarranted fear of being tracked down by these ultra nationalists, by mentioning any private information regarding your circumstances. Whether such things are true or not regarding Argentina I don't know.

However, at least you're aware that such activity isn't true within the UK, and you've nothing to be ashamed about, these people making their stupid comments should be ashamed, not the innocent.

So will you agree now that there are many decent Argentine citizens living in your Country who believe in our right to live peacfully the way we choose.

It is a very brave Argentine who sticks their neck on the line to defend our beliefs . I know that in time many more will indeed stand up and have their say.

But the point I am making here Martin_Fierro (#) is that you are ignorant to the facts that even in your own Country there are many thousands of like minded people who would like to speak out but are fearful for their safty. Stop and think for a moment when you slag the British because if my history and indeed my memory is correct was it not the British, Welsh, Irish and Scotts who were some of the earliest settlers of your Country and is it not a fact that there are still thriving communities of these citizens scattered al over your homeland. These people have direct ancestral links with Britain so while you are haveing a go at us and Britain remember you are slagging your fellow contry men and women.

    133@kelperabout
You´re right about that. I think Martin Fierro you should lower the tone a bit and reconsider. There´s many more Brits in our country than u can think of. Just think of the BA Herald, these papers date from 1876 and is still running and selling several hundreds of thousands issues around th country...
I sometimes dont know what to think about it all... who is deceiving who in this issue of the sovereignty over the Malvinas? Because, while I see for myself that some British arguments are weak, the Argentine ones are much weaker too in many respects. A case dating back to 1833...
Martin, did you know that it was not until 1861 after the battle of Pavon that Argentina got unified? That only after Mitre got to be president in 1862 Argentina was actually at least half of the Argentina we are now, and was only then ready to relate with other nations. before those years, it was all divided, there two states between 1853 to 1861. And during the Rosas years between 1829 and 1852, BA spoke for all of Argentina but the rest of the provinces were actually against him.
And, it was not until 1879 when Argentina started expanding its borderlines southwards from the Salado River in BA and the Rio Tunuyan in Mendoza, it means half the country downwards was not Argentine per se until the very treaty of 1881 was signed up with Chile...
And the fact is the Kelpers are human beings, and they have proofs they lived there for 200 years....
to topi it off, to make matters worse, the stupid Junta invaded the islands in 1982..
What do we really expect? ...
I think Argentina should not even take the issue the ICJ, should simply say sorry for the mistakes and then head on to build constructive relations with both the Malvinenses and the British. THIS is a realistic way and brave way to go.. And dont come to me with all the crap of patriotism vs imperialism, there are winners and therere losers in this.. and we are the losers on this one. But lets move on! th future is out there

The word conceited is an adjective that refers to someone having an excessive or above average opinion of oneself. One of the most common insinuations leveled at a conceited person is that they are conceited fools. A conceited person displays certain traits including a sense of false pride, a degree of arrogance, a casual disregard of others which is very egotistical etc.
Swollen-headed, egotistic, swollen and vain are some of the synonyms of conceited. A conceited person may also be considered rude or even in extreme cases a bigot. They generally are individuals who look down upon their contemporaries. Their attitude is also interpreted as being snobbish.

Brits are deported as any other nationality in the world I guess they are the most suffering deportation and jail after the Mexican especially in Asia due to drug trafficking, drinking and bad behaviour. In Argentina there are few of them in jail for trafficking cocaine.

Here a sad British example who had been deported from USA can you see there are more Brits deported than Argies if you are not aware of.
    http://www.newstatesman.com/200411220005

Any Fabio in Argentina with a surname Nicolleti or even with a Spanish surname having Italians, polish etc. relatives can apply for citizenship in Italy and I others countries. IURE SANGUINIS.

So when you say that Argies will sell their organs to get a passport to go anywhere in Europe only show you ignorance, stupidity and that you are not even Argentinean.

Nico: I'm guessing by the tone and manner of your post you're either a teen ager or in your early twenty's. I'm glad you had fun travelling through Europe. I hope you enjoyed your holiday. This “moro”land of yours is not common jargon in spanish and no, i don't think any argie would have gotten the joke. By your tone I'm guessing you're a rich momma's boy flogger de 4ta... ups... I need to stick to English. Don't be such a pedantic twat. Obtaining European citizenship is not as easy as you make it out to be. Your whole piece was rubbish.
As far as your claim that I'm not Argentinean (shrugs shoulders) I'm not bothered.

@for multi personalities haha Aka Rodrigo, Argiebargie and Other just in case.

Sorry but as I was censored by posting in German and also in Spanish I will have to translate this for monolingual MOhameds.

Modismos Españoles ) Spanish lingo or jargon.

hay moros en la costa? There are Moros in the cost?

Moro comes from the times of the crusades http://elplop.com/?def=63281&search=hay%20moros%20en%20la%20costa

Any argie will know what that means. Vale chaval?

“I'm glad you had fun travelling through Europe. I hope you enjoyed your holiday”

Nein, I was living as I’m European. Wrong again.

“Obtaining European citizenship is not as easy as you make it out to be”

You are really bad informed, its quite easy if you have European ancestors like Italians.
    http://elplop.com/?def=63281&search=hay%20moros%20en%20la%20costa

Its not so difficult. Isn’t it? What do you expect the Italians/Germans/Polish/French, etc knocking at your door? I have an American friend here that the only way to stay “lets say legal” is travelling to Uruguay and coming back. And some English are doing the same, do you think that for American is more easy to get a EU nationality? Nope I saw some struggling to get a visa for France (they are reaaaaally tough for immigrant out of EU)

    Well enough for today.

Bloody argies they are going to steal our Scotland soon or later. Hahaha

@ to whom concern ( I got lost ha ha)
    Well let’s see...

You say that the Argies will sell their organs to get a Mohammed’s passport, right?
Later you said that you have no clue about how an Agie can obtain an EU passport or nationality. And you also said that you already got one British passport in addition to your Argentus passport.

    Am I Right?
Now concentrate harder and answer my questions please, would you?...

1- Mr. Bean can we know what organ did you sell to get your passport from Ukistan?

May be your brain? Oops sorry I answered for you. So please accept my apology, after all you were right. At least in your case.

2- When you were in Uki on holidays (its what you said right?) and being one of these argies in despair for a chance to get the hell out (you own words) why you didn’t stay there so we can save the embarrassment of your post?

3- Why don’t you try to exchange your Uki passport for something a little bit more cool.
Let’s say for a Toba’s passport, I know that Brits will sell their organs to get passports, specially their brains. You are a living proof of that.

May be you will be lucky after all and can get one with a free beer. But please don’t offer your brain to them, the Tobas already know that the value of a Mohammed’s brain with bad teeth doesn’t buy a pint of large in a Londonistani pub, they are not stupid like the British who sold the passport to you.

And how did you call me? Well doesn’t matter, today I fell really generous so I forgive you.

Malen, thank you for your comment and your concern. It's much appreciated. I had thought the same thing at first but I wasn't sure what to do. I decided to wait a bit and think. To be honest, if he wanted to send the link to anyone he could even without posting it on this board. And as Marco rightly said, my twitter profile was (is) public and open to searches. If these boys want to research me: well, who am I to stop them? They have my blessings. If after that he and his boyfriend Nico want to find out where or how I live, my phone numbers and my activities on other social networks, they can knock themselves out. However “posting me” up there actually highlights what is true and verified. There is a growing number of Argentines that rejects what we learned in school (yeah, I went to school in Argentina). Users will come to their own conclusions (well they already have) as to how inappropriate his actions were. Do you feel clever Marcos? You should. I think it's a great example of what dodgy (chanta, cagón) I mean genius traits we have as a Nation. Malen, I was taught the same as you in school regarding the islands. And the same as all other kids with guardapolvos (white lab coats) learned. I was 8 when the conflict happened. I've been very privileged to be able to travel and live abroad and see how other places work. I studied their side of the story as well. something like reading Clarín and Página 12 and then making up your own mind about what or who's right and wrong. I have faith that the intelligent human will always want to seek the truth.
Marcos, I hope I never receive a friend request from you on facebook... You will be declined. Sorry.

Argiebargie I think you are being so improdunt and naive by insulting and looking for trouble with these guys.

You have not idea how dangerous they can be. They are not stupid floggers as you think.

They are right-wing nationalist from Belgrano, San Isidro, Martinez, etc. with surname from Germany, Austria, Norway, N Italy, etc. most of them from wealthy families, very heavy weigh stuff.
Violent people like Alan and William Schlenker. They were arrested for killing on cold blood an ex friend for rivalry on soccer. They will hurt you just for fun.

You can see the pattern “Adrián Rousseau es un negro cabeza, resentido, rencoroso y envidioso” (Alan declaration to the press) always the racist stuff and verbal violence and abuse.

You can see them here in the 2006 world cup in Germany http://losborrachosdeltablon.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/barras03.jpg

I was really shocked when I was reading your post insulting them about the passport issue and the comparison with the Palestinian stuff.

Unfortunately our lovely country is full of this kind of people. You can find them in sites like Stormfront.org - The White Nationalist Community talking using their native and ancestors languages.

I thought you should know better before is too late and you continue with your sterile crusade against them, have no sense.

    @143
If you have a UK Passport it is the European Communities Model, since they have been that model for more than 10 years now. This means you are a European Citizen with joint Argentine Nationality.

I don't actually hold a UK Passport, since I've never applied for one, and have only ever been abroad on a MoD Form 90 whilst in the services or, long ago, on a temporary 12 month passport (yes they used to issue one for such a short period on stiff card), they stopped issuing those a very long time ago! However, I am actually filling out a passport application as I write this, since we've recently obtained Pet Passports I suppose its only fair that we go with the dogs on holiday!

Also, from your use of the phrase argiebargie as a nom de plume, you're no doubt aware that its origin has no relationship with Argentina or the Argentine people, and that anyone that thinks it does, or is manufactured to insult anyone from Latin America, is mightily confused, and in error.

Just like anyone that thinks the Malvina House Hotel in Stanley has any sort of link to the Spanish name used to describe the Falkland Islands, is also in error.

A bot is a piece of software with an algo able to perform multiple tasks and also simulating to be a human being. Including in games if you like.
A positive use of a bot for example is in search engine to grab data and client’s patterns preferences from browsers and servers from all over the world.

A malicious way of its use for example, is to perform DOSS attacks (cyber attacks) on networks using zombies controlled computers, also to grab forcefully information from databases, to inject forcefully malicious queries, to hack/crack systems, etc. Or simply grab public information.

Doesn’t matter if the victim is a personal site in a share hosting or the network of the pentagon if the hacker find a security hole kaputt.

There are multiple uses for bots for example someone can be just in this moment grabbing data about you. Who knows?

They can even know if your were introducing illegally Argentinean coffee into UKI for example.
Or meat oh! Look what happen to Yakub Moosa Yusuf in UKI he got four and a half years of prison.

    Have you ever done that?
I hope not is a criminal offence in Ukistan they take this very serious.

Or if you buy in Coto using your credit card when you are in Buenos Aires, your sexual preferences the porn sites you usually like more to see travesties. Let’s say all this kind of information that someone can use to ruin your entire life. Sounds scary. Doesn’t it?

Look what happen to M6 chief in UKi for using facebook. Haha you have to be very stupid to do that haha.
Or to the Mafia Boss's Manfredi in Italy for being fan of social networks like Facebook ha ha ha he is still in jail I guess.

There are very bad people out there. Do you know? Better don’t mess with them especially in UKI
They like to spy all over, sure they are grabbing this. Are you spying me M6? Give me break please, I swear that I’ve never smuggled any coffee into Ukistan. I don’t even drink it.

    See you later

    Gotey:
“Later the British helped and backed the Chileans in the Guano War in 1879-1883, forcing Argentine neutrality in exchange for the 1881 Treaty of limits between Arg-Chi by which Chileans secured the Western part of Patagonia.”

The British “help” in the Guano War is quite a peruvian myth. There was interest from private British individuals, same as there was American interest for Peru to win. By the way, the peruvian army and navy had way more british inflence than the chilean one: Peruvians 2 flagships Huascar and Independencia, the state-of-the-art ironclads of the continent had been ordered by Peru to UK, big part of the peruvian navycrew were british...

Though its a totally new “info” to me, that UK influence supposedly prevented Argentina to enter the guano war in Peru's and Bolivia's favour against Chile.
    Interesting!
Do you have any sources for this, it would be quite revealing stuff...

I've no idea what you are on about regarding web bots, the origins of the phrase has nothing to do with the Interweb.

What it has to do with illegal imports and prison sentences only you must know, you're obviously drinking something stronger than coffee.

Very revealing as your web page history might be to you, I'm afraid I'm not interested in which sites you visit one-handed.

Not quite sure how you manage to link the UK Motorway Network with the Mafia in Italy, and Social Networking, the way your mind works you must be some sort of psychiatric out-patient needing a repeat medication, but otherwise it does paint an accurate picture of your persona.

I implore all who comment on this to ignore this martin fierro who seems to forget our geographical location as being part of South America as well as our heritage because it suits him not too.
In this part of South America we refer to ourselves as Falkland Islands, this is not a new thing, this is our name.
Do you want to live in our home so badly you cannot see you have no right to do so.
It would be just as easy for us to claim your houses across the water are our own using the same logic, agreeable a pointless position to use as a truth.

The reason I implore the public to ignore you is because I know that appealing to your logic and humanity is fruitless, as you appear to have none, and most certainly when it conflicts with your beliefs.
Any comment I make to defend my country will be picked apart from flaws in grammar to conflicts with your personal ‘truths’.
By no means will it be merited or weighted as an opinion of someone who knows first hand the pain and fear that is inflicted on to this small group of people victimised for your own gain.
This is not a mark of a reasoned human being but that of a heretic or (those fortunate enough to be listened to) a dictator.

I would rather turn the other cheek and stare blankly at a wall before I let you think your abuse was listened to; don’t make enemies you can’t defeat.

1- Are you stupid or drunk again? Mohammed is the most popular name in Britain and I’ve never made any reference to any religion as you’ve said, this is your own make up association.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1324194/Mohammed-popular-baby-boys-ahead-Jack-Harry.html

Its is my fault that in Ukistan people chose to call themselves Mohammed? or Abdul? Nope

2- I remind you that the only one I can see bombing Muslim to stole their oil at the moment are you guys. And you call me what? Racist? Very funny

I know your kind you speak abut freedom, democracy, like to call other dictators, racist, etc.
But you are still a rotten kingdom and you never lost any opportunity to bomb Africans and Muslims in inferior conditions. Cool guys you are.

3-I told you several times that I have not idea who is “Nicodumarse” and that my name it is not Nico, or Nicolas what kind of stupid will use his real name to post in a forum? Ah! I know you.

You also insist on this and I bet let see I don’t remember now... ah! yes that if I’m this guy I will pay you USD100.000 in cash but if you are wrong you will have to pay me USD 50.000.

I think your the angry one Nico-Griffin! here are the facts you have an unhealthy erotic obsession with Muslims and you are a racist Xenophobic arsehole :) we are not talking about the UK here and the middle east....we are talking about you and your Racism problem :)

Your dad is Nick Griffin, Oh and it hasn't gone unnoticed that you deleted your Youtube channel....what a coincidence Nico-Griffin hahah :)

Kicking yourself slightly at your stupidity I guess :)

You can deny all you want, but that was you on Youtube Nicodume! Same piss poor grammar, same use of words (saying Mohammed all the time!) yup it was you, and of course the most obvious give away, the accounts been deleted, not long after I rumbled you :) Now your just being a bad liar and you know it

However because I'm a nice person, I won't demand your money...I will take it but I will pay for a psychiatrist to treat you for your sexual fetish with Muslims and the other half I shall pay for diversity classes to try and weed your abhorrent racism out of you...We have to break your dad Nick-Griffins genetic code he implanted in your mum someday amigo :)

“what kind of stupid will use his real name to post in a forum?”
-The same stupid person who thought he would be oh so clever and change 3 letters in his user name and troll Youtube Falklands videos and thought he wouldn't get noticed ahhh you per chance?

-PS I use my real name, because I have nothing to hide :)

However you obviously do, otherwise you wouldn't have shut down your Youtube channel after I rumbled you hohohoho don't like it when the heats turned on do you?

Nothing to do with stupidity at all, I'm, just arrogant and infinity more cleverer than jack booted racist inbred stormtroopers like yourself, and quite aware that most cyber stalkers are all piss and wind.....whats the worst your going to do? Look at my Twitter account AHHH!

    181 NicoDin:

“1- Are you stupid or drunk again? Mohammed is the most popular name in Britain”

Wrong. Both Oliver and Olivia are respectivly the most popular boys and girls names in the UK. The “Mohammed's” you read about include all variations, if you do the same with Oliver the number is almost double Mohammed.

“As in previous years, the name Mohammed, which ranked 16th, would take top place among boys if all possible spellings were aggregated. But as a spokesman for the Official for National Statistics pointed out, this is potentially misleading if no other names are similarly combined: there were still more Olivers than Mohammeds if you count the 511 Ollies, 127 Oliviers, 124 Ollys, 16 Ollis and 9 Olis born in 2009. The merging of Harry with Henry and Jack with John would produce similar disruptions to the list.”

Not to mention the five thousand Olivias.

Nico, “I just wonder if UK splits The bennies will become Scots or English?”

After the split of Britain kelpers were planning to return to their real island in Europe, some to Scotland and some to England, however after they read the article below they began to form a line in Buenos Aires to apply for an Argentinian passport.

By the way I didn’t know Zethe that you were in the real estate sector developing high tech offices and refurbishing buildings. Do you really enjoy your work? I hope so. : )

    @Marcos Alejandro

Ha ha ha Yes I think so ha ha ha

    @Argiebargie

For someone who claims to write proper English and who also pretends to lecture others on that matter...

Hey, I called him that also West... he really fits the description.
    (see 141 & 149)

Nico, I'm done going back and forth with you and the rest of the cyber-cafe wankers. I can see that you and the usual suspects are on every post doing the same thing which is basically, making the Argentine look like imbeciles. I can't on my own put our image right in front of our neighbors in the South Atlantic and it was an uphill battle to even try. Stupidity wins. Congrats. A message of sympathy for the islanders: I hope you soon enjoy the benefits of regular trade and I hope you find oil. Lots of it. If not to make up for 30 yrs losses but to at least piss off the likes of some of the “dudes” I've come across on these boards.
    Peace.
Here's an argie saying for you all to consider:
“El verdadero hombre inteligente es el que aparenta ser pelotudo, delante de un pelotudo que aparenta ser inteligente”
“The authentic intelligent man is the one that pretends to be an ass, in front of an ass that pretends to be intelligent”
