May 13th, 2011 - 02:29 pm - Link - Report abuse 0DON'T DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU DON'T WANT OTHERS DO UNTO YOU This government hits first, but when the other side hits back, this government doesn't like it lol This government should know that Argentina and Brazil are partners not brothers, it's not like everything is accepted without consequences. If we want privileges then we must give privileges too, or take measures like protectionism, but don't go crying when other countries do the same. But this is a good chance to see how El Modelo works in real life.

May 14th, 2011 - 01:52 am - Link - Report abuse 0haha... more Mercocrap
Brazil has the same economic priority as Argentina, it's their prerogative to make changes as they see fit. So what?
Brazil has its largest surplus in trade with Argentina a trade war with Argentina will affect more Brazil than Argentina. We can buy the same from China and sell our cars to Mexico, Venezuela, Africa and other countries as we are doing at the moment. Nothing to be worry about

May 14th, 2011 - 02:18 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Well, 60 days should be enough to bash a certain head against the wall until it sees sense.
Nicodin, Argentina is highly dependent on Brazil. A trade war with Brazil will affect Argentina more, since they also control more of your Economy.

May 15th, 2011 - 08:45 am - Link - Report abuse 0I’ve never said that Argentina will not suffer from a trade war with Brazil of course would be a problem but for Brazil will be suicidal in financial and political terms as Argentina provides them the largest surplus than any other country. They know very well that and things like this had happened before when Argentina was running surplus against Brazil. So nothing to be worry about like in Europe all the time some guru predicts the end of the Euro and the disintegration of the block (no name here haha).
The problem of Brazil is capital inflow what makes its currency artificially overvalue hurting its exports (a Trojan Horse). I hope Brazil will be able to control that, because as easy they came they easy will go one day when the north will provide them better return and all the region will be really in a big mess. all involved in currency devaluations .
Of course is my humble opinion.
: )
trade surplus is one thing. What is more important, is the share of the total exports affected. In this way, if a trade war brakes out, Argentina is going to suffer way more.
May 15th, 2011 - 09:56 am - Link - Report abuse 0Argentina exported 68.5 billion in total in 2010
Brasil exported 202 billion in total in 2010
Out of the 68,5 billion exported by Argentina, almost 19% went to Brazil
Out of the 202 billion exported by Brazil, 9% went to Argentina
Where is the bigger impact then?
