I don't think this is funny, this is sad. But, the faster the ignorance, brutality and depravity conquer this country, the bigger the mess and the better for us, because the weeping widow will have to go and the people who vote for her will ask her to leave, I hope she wins this October, I want to see her hummiliated.

Oh, the loss of education in Argentina! It appears to me that the K supporters cannot tell the difference between the Norway flag and that of England. Just because they both have crosses does not make them the same.

The UK didn't start the war, the events in Georgias Del Sur accelerated the war... particularly the Brits bitching about the Argentines raising the flag.

Martin - there is a nice document in the Imperial War Museam with the word 'surrender' on the top of it. Signed by an Argentine by the name of Menendez.

So the war tactic is now a Mayor sanctioning violence against a couple of Norwegian owned ships in an Argentine port.

My lord you guys are stupid or just mentally ill. No wonder you are not taken seriously.

Don't we just love it when the stupid Argentine numpties give the world a good laugh. This has made my Monday, thanks for the good giggle boys and girls keep up the good work. Have another laugh at Argentines expense with this little joke folks.

Three guys, one Irish, one English, and one Argentinian, are out
walking along the beach together one day. They come across a lantern
and a genie pops out of it.

“I'll give you each one wish,” says the genie, “that's three wishes in
    total.”

The Irish guy says, “I am a fisherman, my dad's a fisherman, his dad
was a fisherman and my son will be one too. I want all the oceans full
of fish for all eternity.” So, in the blink of an eye - FOOM! - the
    oceans are teaming with fish.

The Argentinian is amazed so he says, “I want a wall around Argentina,
protecting her, so that no one will get in for all eternity. Again, in
the blink of an eye - POOF! - there's a huge wall around Argentina.

The Englishman asks, ”I'm very curious. Please tell me more about this
    wall.“

”Well, it's about 150 feet high, 50 feet thick, protecting Argentina
so that nothing can get in or out,“ the genie explains.

”Fill it up with water says the Englishman.

What a truly wonderful example of the irrational, insane, misinformed, ignorant and naive world that the Argentines live in. You could not make this up. And as their riots and protests were proved to be illogical and unwarrented, the Argentine MP commentator still believes they were justified! Fantastic. I wonder what other senseless and unjustified acts of vandalism, destruction and general lunacy will Argentines do in the name of “Malvinas”? Remember the Black Pig anyone?

    errr Martin; what economic blockade???

I am not aware of any economic blockade. Who is enforcing the blockade around the islands?

Is Argentina (and its really big and strong patrol boats) stopping ships entering and leave Falkland Island territorial waters?

Has Argentina frozen financial assets related to economic activity in the Falkland Islands?

Martin - you are as nuts as CFK. You have no idea what an economic blockade is. Your war (note there is no state of war by international definitions) involves a gang of unemployed and uneducated Argie youth trashing an Argentine port that is harboring two Norwegian ships that are involved in Argentine oil exploration. Sound like an act aligned with sound economic theories.

I like the sound of your economic blockade. Really effective at threatening the Falkland Islands.

We will drill if we want to. We can afford it and choose what to do with our money and the Argentine sideshow is good entertainment. Ha ha!

The mayor of the small city of Ensenada, Mario Secco, where the British invasions of 1806/1807 started, folowed wrong information. These ships had permission and they were not going to British occupied Malvinas Argentinas.
In a few words he screwed up and a A handful of troublemakers caused some destruction. MercoPress and few British makes a big deal out of this but they don't like to talk about when hundreds of thousands riot in the streets of London a few weeks ago.
However make not mistake neighbor trasandino, British are not welcomed in South American soil.

Recently there where riots in England over expensive University fees for students, Brit students where trashing London streets and acting like monkeys so riots happen all over the world lads, At least University Education in Argentina is free for its citizens since Argentines believe its society are entitled to a free University Education where all can benefit unlike England where some sectors of the Britt society miss out because they are unable to pay the excessive university fees. Of course Universities in Argentina are free. Why would anyone pay to go to an Argentine university? Believe me there are plenty of Argentinians paying the overseas rate to study in British Universities because of the much higher quality and recognition of the UK HE sector.

Plenty of foreigner's study at various Argentine universities but they have to pay, however Argentine citizens don't have too, making University education free for all of its social classes unlike England where only the one's that can afford are able too that's why young Brits are rebeling against the Education system where the lower classes of English society struggle to get a University education due to high Uni fees.

I quite can't follow your statement about the british invasion to spanish contintental colony in 1806/07. What relation does it have to the current situation, whereas these ships have received permission to dock in argentine harbours? What relevance does it have, that there exists riots in London (about whatever theme), don't we all have them spread over the world. I can't follow you on that one, as I was not even mentioning the riot, but only addressing the “go” from argentine authorities for the ships to enter their harbours.

Why are you talking in the representation of the whole Americas, that British are supposedly not welcome on this continent? I think they are welcome, as long as they keep up with the local law.

Argies are so funny. They have a riot to protest about two Norwegian-flagged vessels working for their OWN oil company. Next time you do it, girls, get it right and sink them..

By the way, I see you burned a version of the Union flag. No doubt bought with millions of Argentine peasants.....sorry, pesos. Does it ever occur that you just burned YOUR OWN flag? You paid for it.

Keep up the flag-burning. I wonder if they're made in Argentina or Britain. If they're made in Argentina, you're going to be spending a lot of money on things to burn. If they're made in Britain, we're going to have an export surge.

Go for it, girls. You don't need that food with the inflated prices. Much better to spend your “money” on bits of cloth to burn. Or send your “money” to Britain.

Intelligence not your strong point is it, girls? That's why we'll always win and you'll always lose.

Martin - to be broke requires one to default on debt. Please indicate when the UK did this. When did Argentina last default on it's borrowings and when did it become the land of financial prudence?

Why don't you stay there forever Martin? Is it not good enough for you?

Interesting title that: ”The UK is broke (well almost, but not quite) and this time the US is hardly far behind”

Is that the same US where you live Martin? I wonder why you prefer living in an almost broke country rather than your own South American utopia?

By the way, the UK debt has an average maturity more than double most other countries, plus we can devalue, unlike most of the rest of Europe. We're not dead yet. We've never defaulted before (except for a technical default in the 1930s). Argentina on the other hand has made an art of defaulting on its debt. Fleecing investors the world over.

Oh, how strange. Now you're falling over yourself to support Scottish self determination (which by the way, the British government also supports), but you can't bring your two-think brain to support that universal right for the Falkland Islanders.

You are one very confused person.

I see this debate has descended (as usual) in an anti-British rant from the Argentine posters. It is very comical that Argentines mock Britiain's current economic state, even though Argentina are known the world over for their consistent and constant economic incompetence, and even if Britain are in a difficult economic situation, they are still far better off than Argentina. Argentina are so arrogant they cannot pay its debts and then launch verbal attacks on the competency of the very people who lent them the money (IMF)!

It is just part of the fantasy world that Argentina and its people are superior. Every country has it, but none are so delusional.

Keep it up Martin and Marco, this is comedy gold!

And being bilingual does not make you intelligent, Martin and Marco are proof of that.

Considering that most of Argentina has no interest in the British Falkland’s,
Or the British in general, being that they have enough problems of their own,
One has to be surprised at the level of anti-British comments on this site,

But then when you consider that the degenerate, down trodden fools, are disowned by their own people, you tend to understand,
We would then wonder just who is the fool.
    She who speaks [Christina]
    Or
    Those who follow her,
For it is said that these anti brit bloggers are their own worst enemies.
To condemn and loath, all that they don’t understand.
To insult the British, shows, their immaturity..

“I didn't bother with Spanish at school... There were far more useful and profitable subjects to study”

    Like economy? Dr. Beef

How did you get your PhD in economy? I just wonder because you seem to know very little about the subject.

“Please indicate when the UK did this”
Many times Dr. Beef allow me to show you below, please.

UK had technically defaulted more than 3 times in history over her debts, just some examples.

1- 1672 Known as the “The Great Stop of the Exchequer”

Letter from Richard Langhorne to Lord Hatton on the stop of the Exchequer in 1672

”I could almost wish your Lordship here for one day to see the strange amazement and consternation which is amongst our moneyed men upon this occasion, viz, it
being resolved that we must immediately set forth a fleet of 22 sail of good ships (to fetch something from France), and prepare for 60 sail of our best ships to be ready early in the spring. His Majesty sent to the bankers in Lombard Street to advance a considerable sum of present moneys. This they refused. Upon this refusal his Majesty by advice of his Council (where it suffered a long debate) resolved to shut up his Exchequer and make stop of all private moneys, by with means all the moneys....”

2- On Gilts issued on 1917 war loans by making a hair cut and a Debt restructuring.
3- 1932 defaulted on WWI debt mostly to the USA (the so-called inter allied debt).

And Britain also was rescued by the IMF in 1976.

Not a good track record I guess.

Nico - yes my PhD is in economics, specifically Health Economics. I have been involved in helping to determine sucessful ways of implementing vaccination programes in East Africa for maximum clinical effect. I also spent a short while working with colleagues in Nigeria regarding balancing the health economy to provide as a comprehensive serivce as possible. I ended up co-supervising the DBA of one of the team, on the understanding that my end was done in the UK as I can't wait to leave Nigeria whenever I go.

None of the various macro economic problems you have highlighted even occurred in my lifetime. So as far as I am concerned these have no relevance to me. Notably two of the event were post a World War! I suppose such globally significant events go unnoticed in Argentina as the nearest you got was by sheltering some Nazis after WW2.

“None of the various macro economic problems you have highlighted even occurred in my lifetime. So as far as I am concerned these have no relevance to me”

And what do you think that we were buying UK’s debt in 1672/1917 or in 1932?

I understand that none of these facts 1672/1917/1932 has any relevance to anyone here because most of the people involved in these events are dead.

Well I’m answering your questions and the default of Argentina was 10 years ago and it is history now as almost all of the topics that are debated here.

So can I validly look down my nose at you as you suggested above?
