May 24th, 2011 - 11:51 am - Link - Report abuse 0very good on the numbers, the numbers injured, the crime, the disorderly conduct, the looting;
very bad on the reason for the street demonstrations -
what were they for/against?
were they spontaneous or organised, if organised - by whom?
is there an agenda of subversion of the Government?
and finally -
is Mercopress part of this subversion - because it certainly seems so.

Joining Unasur ideology would just nourish such behaviour as seen. Such protests in Chile awaken attention, because they are not common. While in Argentina they're daily business.
Pan de cada dia, ustedes solo que estan acostumbrados.
Since Piñera become president of Chile there are riots in every corner of Chile, including Eastern Islands, he's done. Mr Piñera don't forget to go kiss that queen feet when you have a chance beteween riots.

May 24th, 2011 - 07:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0yes, thats the typical leftist style of living, whining arround all the time when they are not in power, but that's no new world discovering. They'll do this all time during Piñera's government, it was already expected. And they even have ordered world champions of this discipline to do so, argentinan professionals!

Marco, you really want to bring up the corruption theme in here... consider the position you guys are currently standing on, veeeeery thin ice.
May 25th, 2011 - 12:21 am - Link - Report abuse 0We do have some corruption ongoing (like on every place of this planet), but at least we fight against it, while you guys have totally resigned.
What does the latest Transparency International Index 2010 on corruption tell us? Let's see...
...
20 UK 7,6
21 Chile 7,2
22 Belgium 7,1
...
now, where is Argentina?
...
62 Ghana 4,1
62 Samoa 4,1
66 Ruanda 4,0
...
mhhh, still no trace
...
105 Argentina 2,9
there it is! You guys really show the path to follow!
When did I say that there is not corruption in Argentina?
May 25th, 2011 - 03:11 am - Link - Report abuse 0You looked only what this international organization says however
most of Chileans have a very poor opinion of politicians and acknowledge that corruption is firmly rooted in their government and a number of State institutions.
Martin,
May 25th, 2011 - 10:48 am - Link - Report abuse 0the British are well used to gas prices increasing by 17%, but we don't indulge in riots in the street.
This is much, much more than street-riots against gas prices - and you know it.
