Brazil's environment agency gave its definitive approval Wednesday for construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam, a controversial 17 billion US dollars project in the Amazon that has drawn criticism from native Indians and conservationists. Read full article

    Brasil has given approval a number of times.

    but has the Inter-American Human Rights Organisation (or whatever it's called) given its approval? Or did they get their wrist slapped and get told to bog-off?
