Once upon a time Japan was known for “cheap and nasty” produce. Now it is known for it's High technology and expertise. A FTA with Japan could be in our advantage as long as the “Free Trade” is kept open both ways. Asia like the USA and Russia is known to put up trade blocks whenever they want. The vote at home is more important to them than the “Free Trade Spirit”.
