    Did they think that the EU budget was a crock of somebody else's gold just there for taking? Patently - Yes.

    And when the EU, etc, says 'It's payback time',
    I say (like Russel Casse) “Payback's a bitch, ain't it?”,
    and, in any case, 'sovereignty' is just a state of mind.

    - 'you took it, you spent it (badly), you pay it back' seems a totally appropriate maxim.
