“...to stop appreciation of the Peso”

Did i miss something? I am following the value of the peso on a regular basis since quite some years. It's currently @ 4.15 pesos a dolar, the lowest value since about a decade! How could they say, they are fighting apreciation?!? I don't get it.

    You ask:
    Did I miss something?

    I say:
    Jupppppp…………………………………
You just happen to miss the economic cornerstone of the Argentinean recovery of the last 8 years:

**Keeping the value of the US dollar high and the value of the Argentinean peso down.**

Anybody commenting about Argentinean economy without knowing this fact has not great chances of success................................
A bit like trying to analyze Chilean economy overlooking Chile’s cobber production……
    Or Saudi-Arabia’s economy disregarding oil………..

    Not very smart.
