A convoy of Libyan rebels rolled early Monday morning into central Tripoli past celebrating crowds after a day of heavy fighting in and around the capital. Crowds on Green Square cheered them, waving flags and firing salutes. Read full article

    Now would be a good time for the western press to list and enumerate the full array of crimes against the people that Gadhaffi is accused of.

    . . . . Not the legal list for the 'war crimes tibunal', but just the bare-bones list to remind us all what the criminality amounted to, and why it was necessary to mandate the United Nations to force a solution.

    on behalf of my parents' generation (a few of which are still around), I protest your comment re. the indecency of the UK.
    It did used to be more decent and does not yet suffer the pain of absolute indecency.
    All empires decline into 'less decency' - viz. Rome - and release their dominions to sink or swim alone or to become somebodyelse's dominion.
    Are you swimming? Sinking? Or becoming somebodyelse's dominion?
