Forty six million Americans living below the poverty line is equivalent to the whole population of Spain. hahaha this is so funny, and funnier because of this word: Spain, in Spain, the situation is just the same as in the US, so there is two Spains living below the poverty line. To all the jack*sses in the USA, enjoy it pals, you've worked hard for that!!!

Sep 14th, 2011 - 09:22 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Is the USA's poverty line the same as every other nation's poverty line?
Is it a statement of Absolute poverty, or a statement of Relative poverty?
Throughout 'developed Brasil' costs are comparable or higher than in the USA, but salaries (median, mean, mode) , ownership of 'things', etc, are much, much lower.
A Brasilian family with a small house and a car would not consider itself, or be considered, 'poor', even though the family income level may be a fraction of that of a US 'poor family'.
great
