The UK is sending a clear message to the rest of the world, your navies can come into our delusional colonial territorial waters, we will just send a note to your Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Argentina take note, send in your boats to the waters around Malvinas, nothing really serious will happen.

We are getting close to the point where Spanish vessels will have to be sunk. The UK prefers discussion to combat. Recognising that combat means death. Still, only Spanish deaths, so not really important.

As for Argentina? Given the Argentine casualties in 1982, it seems that a further conflict should produce at least 6,000 Argentine dead. 6,000,000 would probably be better. More persuasive on the level of “Don't piss us off again”.
