Might i suggest, that next time argentina demands back up in her suport again the falklands,
Paraguay, tells them where to go, once again, time and time, argentina proves she only cares for argentina, she only wants you, when it suits her, and Paraguay, should be carefull that argentina does not take exeption , and perhaps claims you to,
wear you down, then take over, you are not the first south american country to complain abouth the way argentina treats you, abusing internatanail law, and your rights,, do the decent thing, kick them out,,

Argentina despises weakness and , in Paraguay's case, weakness caused by size and land-locked location. This enables Argentina to bully and blackmail Paraguay at will.
Paraguay is doing the best for Unasur by keeping Venezuela out; Argentina is doing the worst for Unasur by each and every action and inaction she takes.

Three nations can and should freeze Argentina out of Unasur until it starts acting responsibly. Let it go, let it sink, and let it become owned and run by the Chinese. Paraguay and Uraguay should tie their flag to the flagpole of Brasil.
It really does not really deserve to be called a country because it acts beyond the norms of civilized society,
and it certainly does not deserve to be part of a coherent trading bloc.

@ 1 briton do you care about the paraguayans? really? lovely!
Paraguay doesn't want to pay, then leave Mercosur, nobody will beg you to stay.

@ 2 Unless I misread, Paraguay is critizicing what Argentina and Brazil are doing. It's simple, Paraguay is a pig country, and should be ousted from Mercosur and Unasur. Paraguay wants the benefits without paying anything. GeoffWard2, you should go back to the United States of America with 42000000 of people living in misery, things are not that simple Mr.

no xbox, Geoff is a british Ideologue who doesn't understand businesss. It's still believes in that left vs right nonsense rather than understanding, it doesn't matter if you don't agree with that person, just do business where it's possible. If you have traveled to Paraguay (what I did and what two fools 1 and 2 never did) you will understand that Paraguay is a poor begger corrupt nation (just as Bolivia)

    Hi XBox,
sorry about my comments - we always dispease some people all of the time, such is the nature of Mercopress blogs.

You may be right about PA, I have never visited the poor and blighted country, but I feel that any country (Argentina) that pitches a tariff for passage of any commodity through its lands 4 times higher than the going rate is taking the piss.
And seeing the same country blocking a giant trade bloc deal with the EU further gives me problems. Brasil is also reticent but is, I feel, ready to talk turkey (as all good Americans say ;-)
I we are not careful, Brasil will do a bi-lateral deal with the EU, which will seal the fate of Mercosur.

PS. I think you have me mixed up with another - I have never lived in the USA.

sorry Paraguay it seems you are in the wrong, you are the bad guy in all this, you do everything wrong
    well
according to 3 xbarilox and 4 Fido Dido ,
you see, argentina is the champion of rights, she respects all, she is so honest, that you have to wonder what all the fuss it about,
but then again, as the whole world knows what argentina is really like,
perhaps you should leave the group, and leav it to the greedy,
for sooner or later, they will end up in the same box,
    those who talk, always do
    its called a soap box,

Fido Dido, if you want to segregate your beloved Argentina from Paraguay and Bolivia and put the first one above the other 2, it's recommendable you rather don't use “corruption” as an indicator. They are all quite near each together in this aspect, according amnesty international.

    105. Argentina 2.9
    110. Bolivia 2.8
    146. Paraguay 2.2

    How would xbarilox say:
Argentina corrupt... how can this be? They are first world!

As l said once before, how ironic would it be if the powerlines on Argentine “territory”was the very land that they stole from Paraguay.

How is this a surprise? Argentines are congenital criminals, liars and thieves. Much like the Spanish.

    @11Artillero601,
The best means of defence is to attack, You would know this Artillero.
While the Argentines are worried about Paraguay, there is less pressure on the Falklands, no?

#9 Misiones was claimed originally by Paraguay, it was ceded following the War of the Triple Alliance. It was one of those parts of the Viceroyalty squabbled over by several nations. Quasi-independent it was seized by troops from Corriente in 1830, Paraguay invaded in 1838 and its seizure by Paraguay was one of the incidents that triggered the War of the Triple Alliance.

Part of the grid crosses land claimed originally by Paraguay and ceded in the War of the Triple Alliance.

Whether it was originally Argentine or Paraguayan territory is debatable.
