Why do you send royal ceremonial guard to las malvinas?
Sep 22nd, 2011 - 12:26 am - Link - Report abuse 0This is a strange story, why they send their cerimonial troops?
Didn't you know, Filippo? The Queen has decided to live in the Falklands.
Sep 22nd, 2011 - 10:37 am - Link - Report abuse 0geo would have all the information about this.
Filippo: They are fully trained combat troops who just do cerimonial duties when asked. Many units have done so in the past like the Royal Marines, Gurkhas, Paras and even a Malaysian unit a few years back. Units from Jamacia Canada Australia and New Zeland are also often posted as queens guards.
Sep 22nd, 2011 - 03:49 pm - Link - Report abuse 0None of them are just cerimonial.
Why would your Queen trust Jamaicans to guard her?

,,,,
This is a strange story?????????
thats our secret.., us to know, you nowt to find out,
2PWRR isn't a ceremonial guard, it's a light infantry batallion, that performs public duties.
Sep 24th, 2011 - 08:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I don't think there are any purely ceremonial guards in the British Army, generally speaking they're trained to be soldiers first (either infantry or armoured reconnaisance for the donkey-wallopers) before they train to do the whole ceremonial bit.
As far as i know and correct me as if im wrong. All troops in the British army are trained in combat.
