Sep 22nd, 2011 - 08:50 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Fast food - often called 'junk food' - is intimately associated with the worldwide explosion of Type 2 Diabetes.
Because the giant food producing companies have a strangle-hold on the spending characteristics of populations becoming 'developed' and FAT, a UN programme that overtly links junk food to the disease s of obesity would only do good.
I have a feeling, however, that McDonalds is a lot more powerful than most nations (CFK, etc, come to mind) and that the fast food companies could easily destroy the UN if it started working 'against their interests'.
