No one would relish a match against the host nation of the Rugby World Cup, but Argentina, unless the improbable happens next weekend, will face the “All Blacks” in the quarter-finals on 9th October. Read full article
a win is a win, said the English team after their Pumas match.
Argentina played better and statistically dominated against England, but didn`t put that dominion on numbers.
So did Scotland against Pumas: played better but wasn`t enough.
Praise for Pumas garra and will, and praise for Scotland`s fairplay, probably the best goodwill in rugby union.
Expect that they will trash England and its speculative play with bonus point. Difficult but not impossible, if they rely in their backs skills.
Surely it was, probably the best individual move in this Championship.
He risked all in looking for a better angle to kick the conversion.
González Amorosino played clever and brave. The folks that missed to tackle him were not babies, but experienced scottish players.

From my point of view, it will very difficult to finish 3rd this time, as in 2007. A generation is retiring or damaged, and the youngers are not ready yet.
But, the next 3 years at the 4 Nations with NZ, Au & SA will forge a really competitive team for RWC 2015, feeded with young players of the Pampas that plays at Vodacom Cup (thanks to South-African generosity) and from the local league.
Then, perhaps, Argentine will be fully a 1st tier team and results will come.
Hope to see Pumas winning the All Blacks at Buenos Aires, in a not so far future.
Regards,
Could be, could be.
But many british journalists and commentators said more or less the same about which teams would qualify from Zone B in RWC. The answer was England and Scotland.
Give us time and the opportunity to compete on a regular basis. And give it to Pacific Islanders, too. Then we talk.
A dozen disappointments against NZ and SA is what happens if you are continentally isolated and kept away from the big international circuits for these last many years.
Argentine players have been good, for many years, but spread across the world with so little opportunity to practice, practice, practice as a national squad.
Things are changing now with the international circuits, and the dismal Argentine historic record is about to be supplanted by a coming period of great successes.
I remember the times where there was an English National Team, a Welsh National Team and a Scottish National Team all competing at the Football World Cup…..
FIFA closed that smart little British “loophole” many years ago…………..
Not at all, think,
just commenting on your weakness of understanding about football, as well as rugby!
It's no big deal; just leave the discussion to those who love the games enough to become well informed.
What a pity Argentina are so decimated by injury Hernanzez,Tiesi, Fernandez Lobbe,Roncero they will probably have enough to see off the Georgians)no soft touch) but losing players of thsi quality will be incredibly tough against the AB but Pumas have so much coraje

Sep 27th, 2011 - 11:16 am - Link - Report abuse 0Given your record against NZ (0-1-12) and SA (0-0-12), I think it might be a while before you get too far up the table in the four nations.
