Buenos Aires pollster Poliarquía which in recent years has better anticipated electoral results in Argentina, forecasts a comfortable victory for President Cristina Fernandez (CFK) re-election bid next Sunday 23, confirming a third consecutive mandate for the Kirchner couple.

Fabian Perechodnik, director of Poliarquía supported the statement with opinion poll results from the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina’s main electoral and decisive district with 35% of the national ballot.

“In the province of Buenos Aires we have a confirmation of the tendencies from the 14 August primary, with probably even a few extra positive notches”, said Perechodnik.

“Governor Daniel Scioli (from the ruling coalition and running for re-election) would garner 52% of the ballot followed by Francisco De Narvaez with 16% and all other hopefuls below 8%, which means Scioli is above the primary percentage while the rest of candidates remain almost at the same level of support they had last August”.

What is most important is that Governor Scioli has a similar vote intention in metropolitan Buenos Aires as well as in rural areas of the province, which for over two years clashed with the administration of President Cristina Fernandez over grains and oilseeds export taxes.

“Looking back to the mid-term election of 2009 when the large farming areas of the province of Buenos Aires were reluctant to support Cristina, managing a 52% support both in the traditional metropolitan belt and in the farming districts, is showing that Scioli has been very effective in promoting decentralization in the province, with a positive feedback that is evident in the vote intention”, said Poliarquía director.

Likewise the “positive assessment of President Cristina Fernandez performance in the Buenos Aires province reaches 66% and that of Governor Scioli, 65%. They are almost even and at very high levels”.

“Our projections indicate President Cristina Fernandez will garner between 54 and 55% of the ballot in the province of Buenos Aires, followed by former president Eduardo Duhalde with 13 to 15 points; Hermes Binner, 10 to 12 points; Ricardo Alfonsin, 8 to 10 points and Rodriguez Sáa, 9 points”, concluded Perechodnik who revealed that Poliarquía was working with a poll covering the whole of Argentina.
