Re-elected President Cristina Fernández urged Argentines to join in “national unity” and asked to “avoid being distracted by useless confrontations”. She also sent a strong message brushing aside increasing rumours that ultra-Kirchner followers were ready to amend the constitution for an “indefinite re-election” Read full article

Stupid Argentine voters vote the Peronists in hoping to get a little mordita. That is why there has been and will continue to be capital flight. Argentina is the country that is run by the Sopranos. Now they will have Christina Soprano in power forever.

Oct 24th, 2011 - 11:14 am - Link - Report abuse 0It's really strange ..... hear the entire speech after the election as well as pre-election proposals and never CFK referred to Malvinas as the campaign logo as many all the time said in this place.
Oct 24th, 2011 - 02:30 pm - Link - Report abuse 0For those who still think that Malvinas is only for electoral reasons I think it's time to assume that they are completely wrong ....
.. on the contrary, the President's speech after the win was totally conciliatory and a call for peace and unity to build a better future for all, (including Malvinas).
Even EU members are getting tired of their arrogant position on all issues, Is time to change UK´s obtuse and irrational position for avoid the isolation.

High inflation (currently) and devaluation of the currency are in Argentina's future. This is a replay of Isabela Peron. The military will have to come in and fix the country again. Perhaps this time they should use the Chilean model which has been a huge success compared to the ever backward Argentina

Oct 24th, 2011 - 05:46 pm - Link - Report abuse 0of Cristina 54 % since we returned to democracy in 1983 (Alfonsín 51%)
of Perón in all our history (62 %) according to www.infobae.com/notas/612554-Perón-el-presidente-con-mayor-porcentaje-de-votos-en-toda-la-historia.html
And the right avances in Capital and north of BA, Macri won 38 to 34 %.
The problem with Cristina is the economy, high dollar for me, inflation,
very high prices of properties too.
Is good for me Malen, I can buy more when I travel. ;-)

Oct 24th, 2011 - 06:07 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The great virtue that can display the model developed country since 2003 is to sustain a steady economic and social growth that reaches all alike.
The fact is explained to have won by more than 50% in the primaries.
The universal child allowance in addition to address situations that have not been able to solve, by years of unemployment has also reduced the degree of exploitation that could be achieved by the desperation of the people ...
This economic growth is supported by a diversified productive matrix also based on the value added, employment generation and, crucially, on social inclusion.
Today Argentina is growing very strong domestic market and growing strong, consumption and development of overall export growth in a long time had no country.
On the external front has restored dignity to the people of Argentina.
She has managed to grow global awareness of the conflict. Latin America supports the claims, both MERCOSUR and UNASUR as the United Nations and now the G-77.

With all due respect, you're wrong deeply. Do not you consider that the historical and social processes are different. The military managed the country with state terror and concentration camps with 30,000 missing. Cristina Kirchner is not like Isabel Peron. Chilean neoliberal model is exploding inside, it is found to have an economic model aligned to the Washington consensus. This is demonstrated by the crisis of the Chilean economic and educational demonstrations of discontent growing because it is a model of exclusion and repression.
I'm very happy with the result of yesterday night, all my family voted her, unfortunatelly i coulden't go to plaza de mayo to celebrate, but some day i will meet cristina.
Oct 24th, 2011 - 07:57 pm - Link - Report abuse 0In spite that i dont like in absolut some aspects of her government, but what i will always admire the most from this woman, is her bravery, that's why i think she 's a great president, for the first time in my 30 years of life, i'm very hapy with what is going on in my country, however there is a lot to do for our people, we are still a very unequal society, and i am sure that she will keep on working hard, to build a better nation, and a great place to live.
Argentines have a habit of picking the wrong horse. CFK herself was a violent terrorist in times past. She has taken money under the table from Chavez and miraculously increased her net worth by many fold via shady land deals. She shares the fascist totalitarian bent and plays smash mouth politics with any opposition. You are misconstruing the events in Chile. Left wing kooks want a free education and many more goodies that they don't want to pay for. That is the left's scam. Pinera appears to be inept at dealing with them. I stand by my prediction of a currency collapse and perhaps even higher inflation foe Argentina. The Argentines deserve it. If you keep voting for the free lunch eventually the bill comes due.

Cheers for our REAL DEMOCRACY. This country has never had such an intelligent, brilliant, noble and representative of its people president. This woman is really near the people and the government has made our democracy more organic, a more everyday practice. I am proud to be represented by her.
On the other hand, I don't think there will be any re-re-election. I believe most argentinians don't want this.
I'm not motivated by any interests, except for the profound love I feel for Argentina hahaha and I'm Santa Claus

She shares the fascist and totalitarian vocation policy plays Smash Mouth with any opposition.
I disagree with you. In his political career Cristina Kirchner is recognized as a true democrat, will be free as any politician who participates and plays for others. It is known for his courageous stand on human rights issues and even Perez Esquivel, Nobel Peace Prize, valued at Cristina Kirchner for his democratic attitude and anti-fascist.
I stand by my prediction of a currency collapse and even higher inflation enemy Argentina. The Argentines are worth it.
Leave the hatred and resentment against Argentina. The greatest virtue of the model of Nestor and Cristina Kirchner is away from the neoliberal market totalitarianism and state policy to establish social justice, economic independence and political sovereignty.
