The US Government congratulated President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner after being re-elected and assured that it will continue to work with the Argentine government to strengthen bilateral ties, State Department spokesman for Latin America William Ostick said. Read full article

Obama should have picked up the phone. I thought Argentina was a strategic non-NATO ally of the US. Christina is not a model leader, but she is the unquestionable democratically-elected choice of the Argentine people. Sending an email congratulations is an insult.

The congratulation note was given to the national terrorist council in Libya to be used as toilet paper but was refused by AL-QAEDA for being of substandard quality.
