Forever remembered, without question or time,
They gave their lives yesterday, for our tomorrow,
    We must never forget.

Perhaps one day, the human race will put aside their greed and territorial ambitions
So we can at last live in peace,
    Rest in peace .

I completely agree Malvinero. I would love to see the day when large countries stop trying to colonise the people and land of a smaller country. It is time to start listening to people and see that they want and encourage them to use their own voice and their own democracy to determine their own cultural, social, political and economical future, which is not influenced or hindered by others. It is time for Argentina to accept that the people of the Falklands are the only ones who can decide the fate of the Falklands. It is time for Argentina to take its duty in the UN seriously, to fully accept the UN Charter to which is signed up to, and to mature as a country.

Then the South Atlantic can truly live in peace and cooperation. Argentina are the only ones preventing all of this.

@5 OMG! Couldn´t be more rediculous! Stop reflecting. You´re seeing it upside down. Stop pretending to take the victims place here. It is precisely UK you should be refering to. Your wishes will come true the day the UK gives up his colonies and gives its occupied territories back to their real owners.
And I have to hear: “Argentines lie and don´t tell the real facts from history”. Bummers.

In France they celebrate and commemorate their liberation from Germany. In the Falklands they celebrate their liberation from Argentina, another fascist dictatorship. Difference is, Germany had made up for what it did and puts the past behind it. Argentina still whinges and whines. You cannot simply claim any territory which you fancy owning as your own. You strike me as being like toddlers. You see something you want, find out that it is someone else's and you cannot have it, so you scream and shout and have a tantrum. You go on about colonialism, yet you support the subjugation of a long-established and peaceful population. It's lucky our armed forces exist to stop you, and it's a pity we have to waste their lives in doing so, and we must honour those who died for the cause of freedom, both in the Falklands and in Europe.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
    We will remember them.
    We WILL remember them.

Long live the United Kingdom. Long live the cause of Freedom. God save the Queen.

This is where I become slightly confused when it comes to Argentine logic. Well to be honest I am confused with all of it. So, by Argentine logic Britain is desperately holding onto all of its colonies. So why did Britain allow South Africa, Australia, Canada, India, Jamaica etc. etc. etc. to gain independence, while Britain does everything it can to hold onto the Falklands, which offer a tiny amount of resource and financial benefits for Britain? It just doesn’t make any sense, and I have raised this point many times, and I have never been given an explanation by an Argentine. Malvinero, could you care to explain this?

And Malvinero, in response to your comment...“ Stop pretending to take the victims place here. It is precisely UK you should be refering to.”. Britain liberated us from unwanted aggressors and allowed us to choose our future. Because of Britain we have our own government, our own culture and our own democracy. They allow us to dispose of our natural resources how we wish and they defend us from proven aggressors (Argentina). Why should the Falklands people welcome the advances of Argentina? It is abundantly clear Argentina will take all of our freedoms away, all the freedoms we enjoy by being British. And don’t give me the crap that Argentina will respect our wishes, because they currently don’t (e.g. economic blockade and trying to persuade the UN to eliminate the Falkland Islander’s human rights). We enjoy the current situation and we want to preserve it, and unfortunately for Argentina we stand in their way of colonising the Falkland Islands.

@8 YOU won't live to see it. Or do you think our submarines are there as a joke? How are you at arithmetic? Four submarines that can launch ICBMs. Each submarine carries sixteen missiles with nuclear warheads. That's sixty-four missiles. Each missile can carry twelve warheads. That's one hundred and ninety-two warheads per submarine. Each of the one hundred and ninety-two warheads can be 100 kilotons. See if you can work this out. 100 x 192 x 4 kilotons. Wonder if we've equipped all our Tomahawk missiles with optional nuclear warheads yet. As a matter of interest, I don't consider belligerent Argentines to be human. You should reckon on complete destruction over 76,800,000 square miles. Isn't that about 75 times the size of your country? Still want to set a toe on OUR Islands? Of course, you could be sensible and stay away. As well as ending your illegal economic warfare. Then we can keep our missiles in their tubes. And you won't have to disappear like Poof the Magic Dragon. Or just a load of poofs.

8 Malvinero1 your brain washing is not working,
Argentina started this, and only Argentina can stop it,
In fact, it is the like of you, that condemn the islanders, insult them, slag them of threaten them almost blockade them,
Then sit here and have the crap to demand they except argentine rule,
Argentina sits alone in the world exercising utter disgraceful intentions against a tiny island, in the 21st century you are but a shadow of your self,
because of your indoctrination and greed, and your leaders utter deluded obsession with the Falklands you have ruined your own country,,, as the UK is going to make [stalking illegal] then I think Argentina should be its first client,, the British will defend the Falklands one matter what people think, until that day comes that they no longer need us, , great Britain the best of the best .

Malvinero1 haven't you figured it out yet, Last time you invaded an island of sheep farmers next time you would be up against a full on Military base, Ships,Subs & Fighters so keep dreaming. Argentina doesn't have the military infrastructure or $$ to do anything more than harris fishing ships right now & given the way CFK has screwed up your economy during her reign I doubt the Falkland Islanders have anything to worry about other than the odd post on Twitter.

Well i must admit that i am absolutely disgusted at how the argentine posters have turn this comment board on an article covering the rememberance of those who lost their lives fighting in the name of freedom and democracy in the many wars throughout history and the world from many different nations including argentina (its not just about UK soldiers being remembered), in to yet another argument on the falkland islands dispute.

If i was the editor of this site i would ban all the argentine posters here commenting on this article where their comments are about the falklands dispute and their claim to the falkland islands.

Show some respect you argentine idiots, because by not doing so you are dishonouring your own war dead and not just that of other nations and the UK's.

Many of the worlds population have lost loved ones of have ancestors within the modern era that have been killed in war especially the two world wars, and you selfish, dishonourable hypercrites from argentina do nothing but complain about the falklands islands and incite hatred right here on this very comment board on an article for remembrance and paying of respect to those that lost their lives in war. Well they are not your islands, they never were and never will be yours!!

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we stop to remember honour and to show our respect to the fallen, of many wars and conflicts, it's not the uniform or the flag, it is the men/women we remember, and as hard as it may be for brains of some of the infantile argi bloggers to take in, we also remember and show respect to your fallen, even thou they were the ones that invaded our home, no-mater who they were fighting for right or wrong they payed the highest cost of all there life, but as Honour and Respect are two things some argi bloggers know little of, I as a Falkland Islander will forgive you your ignorance.

guys i dont know why you are expecting anything resembling honour or respect from Argentines here.

Bitter, jealous hatred of britain and especially British soldiers is still deeply ingrained in their national psyche. they will never forgive the British military for humiliating them and preventing Argentina's warped version of “manifest destiny”.

you can see this in the way they celebrate 80 british soldiers being forced to surrender to 800 Argentines, and obsess over the photos taken to humiliate them (while similarly using the photos of the 14000 argentines who surrendered to 5000 british to whine about how they were the ”victims), and in how they make up masturbatory fantasies of secret british “cover ups” of a thousand extra British soldiers dead, or aircraft carriers secretly sunk.

They lack the spine to admit defeat, so they have nothing but hatred for those that defeated them, and whether it is expressed by shrieking hostility or mere silent hatred, it will never fade so long as they keep hold of their obsession with the Falklands.

In the end though their opinions mean less than nothing, as millions if not billions of people all over the world, from Africa to Asia to Europe have been saved from enslavement or death by British soldiers, sailors and airmen in the past 60 years from the very same types of murderers Argentina worships to this day.

Perhaps if she had achieved something that warranted respect, she would know better,,
Alas all she knows is to invade unarmed and peaceful little islands,
Now that nothing to be proud of is it,

Or threatening and blockading the innocent islanders, or even tell the world, untruths and abhorrent lies,
With a nation like this, one wonders why they show no respect to real men.
    Just a thought .

Without Britain the world would be dominated by fascists, like Peron and Mussolini and Nazi's like Hitler, or Communist Dictators like Stalin.

Britain has fought to keep the world free of tyrants, while Argentine has embarrassed them with open arms, inviting war criminals in, the last German U-boats docked in Argentina two months after the END of the war carrying Nazi Gold and War Criminals, welcomed in by a fascist government all to ready to have those same war criminals train it's Armed Forces to kill their own people and those of other nations.

Argentina is fundamentally a sick country, run by a sick unelected dictatorship, a dynasty, up to its neck in blood and wiping its ass with the blood of the average Argentine fanatical nationalist (90% of the population).

I feel sorry for Argentina and her neighbors. But at least as Argentina appears to being settled by more and more Latin American's of non European heritage and the birth rate decreases and more Argentines seem to be becoming homosexual, the future for the safety of the rest of the region is looking brighter. Very soon people will call themselves Latin American's rather than Argentine. It will become politically incorrect to use the word Argentine, as the nation increasingly struggles to adapt to a Federated South America Union run by Brazil. Nationalists will become ever more marginalised in Argentine society, as they have throughout Europe. Soon it will be illegal in Argentina, to make racist remarks about the British, or make territorial claims on other parts of the Southern Cone. This is good news, as Argentina is the only nation on Earth with territorial ambitions, Argentina has Imperial designs on at least 11 separate neighboring territories and geographical areas - Terra del Fuego, Beagle Channel, Chile, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands, Falkland Islands, South Orkney Islands, British Antarctic Territory, Chilean Antarctic Territory, Uruguay and Paraguay. Have I left any out?

The nationalists put on the patriot record in 1982 and it is still stuck on play, while they pine for a lost war and military junta soaked in Argentine blood, they make excuses and say they had to kill the terrorists. For terrorists, read right wing government provocateurs about 100 dead to the tens of thousands murdered by their government, tortured, raped, kicked out of the back of aircraft over the sea. Operation Condor, the CIA's programme of political genocide in Latin America is now well documented but to our nationalists it is to be over looked, it doesn't exist, they can read the official documents but not see them. Show them the documents and they will see nothing. If it goes against their image of the heroic Argentine and the brave military struggle against the Amerindians, the political left and everyone else it isn't true. All across the internet, wikipedia, etc they edit anything critical of Argentina, the Conquest of the Desert read 1,500 Indians killed for attacking government troops and civilians, rather than the millions killed for no reason other than they were not European and not part of the system, everything is edited, changed, the truth becomes a lie. The Argentine right wing are a mind controller's dream come true!

25 Anti-Fascist (#). It is becoming increasingly evident that the two subs that surrendered in Mar del Plata three months after the end of the war were carrying more than gold and war criminals. It would appear that they were carrying the worst war criminal of all, Herr Adolf and Eva.
