The Mexican president underlined the strategic importance of Uruguay since it is the only Mercosur member that has a free trade agreement with Mexico, thus making it the ‘strategic partner’ of Mexico in Mercosur. Read full article

Calderon should be reminded, he only has a FTA with one (small) country; he has *nothing* with Mercosur.

In years to come, if he wants something with Mercosur, he will have to unpick this bi-lateral agreement first.
