A draft bill signed by fourteen Argentine lawmakers from the political spectrum calls for all national teams to include in their uniforms the crest of the Islands and the motto “Las Islas Malvinas son argentinas” (The Malvinas islands are Argentine). The sponsors want the bill approved on time for the inauguration of the Olympic Games next year in London. And argentina finds brand new ways in which to show how pathetic and spineless the country and it's people are. When nations like North Korea manages to retain dignity, humility and basic respectfulness compared to argentina, you really have to wonder whether it's existence was really worth the genocides caused to build it.

On the other hand, given that Argentina has yet to rise above rank 40 in terms of medals (whereas the UK was at number 4 last year) its not as if anyone will have a chance to read their uniforms. still anything to cow the sheep into hysterical state worship, which is pretty much the only nationalism Argentina can achieve given it's total lack of historical achievements, inventions or importance to rally around.

“It would also be an excellent homage to our victims on the coming 30th anniversary of the South Atlantic heroic deed“

oh so the war so many shrieking dagos have tried to pretend was ”the sole fault of the junta” is now a heroic deed? and it is so very telling as to just how sickeningly spineless argentina is that it celebrates it's failure and international humiliation at the hands of a REAL nation, while whining it was the victim because it couldnt take britain fighting back.

    keep classy argentina.

These olympic games will be the funniest of all the olympic games in mankind's history. Esto es lo que dejó la mosca de la queresa Néstor Kirchner luego de defecar hahaha

The UK team will have a arm patch showing the outline of the Argentine with a Middle Finger sticking into it, and a caption that reads, “UP YOUR'S”, just how pathetic can the argi's get? But on the other hand if they enter a team of runner's from there army they may win a medal or two, as all the world knows how fast they can run when a gun go's off.

Well that should do the trick. Another ''nail in the coffin'', I should say.

I don't think we need a public relations firm to promote our cause. The Argentine government are doing a totally fabulous job of making themselves look like big eejits all by themselves.

It would have to be a rather large crest for anyone to notice, wouldn't it?

'It would also be an excellent homage to our victims on the coming 30th anniversary of the South Atlantic heroic deed'
I agree wholeheartedly. The victims were of course the Falklands people who were subjected to the cowardly attack and imprisonment by the despotic Military Junta of Argentina NOT the poorly educated conscripts who died f0r Argentina.
Is Argentina still going ahead with the medal for LOSING the war?
You couldn't make this crap up.

It is turning into a bit of a farse. As each day goes on and as each Argentine announcement is made, it just reassures me that our enemy is clueless, grasping at straws and reeks of sheer desperation. It leaves me in absolutely no fear that the country I love will never fall into their greedy, blood-soaked, fascist hands.

Doubtful if the Olympic authorities will permit it. The Bye-law to Rule 51 of the Olympic Charter says:

“No form of publicity or propaganda, commercial or otherwise, may appear on persons, on sportwear, accessories or, more generally, on any article of clothing or equipment whatsoever worn or used by the athletes or other participants in the Olympic Games except for the identification - as defined in paragraph 8 below - of the manufacturer of the article or equipment concerned, provided that such identification shall npt be marked conspicuously for advertising purposes”

Another desperate measure by the Argentines to bolster support. They even have to write it on sport uniforms. It's the Olympics, not the UN. Anyway, judging by your previous record, I doubt that you will have that many medal ceremonies to display that word anyway.

#21 Marcos whether she lives in the Falklands, Argentina, the UK or Timbuctoo the rules of this website say that “Comments must be in English”. As #15 was speaking in writing in Spanish, #21 was quite justified in chiding #15 for breaking the rules. If either you or number 15 would prefer to write in Spanish, may I suggest you or they go on a Spanish forum where you can bitch and whinge and moan without effect to your hearts content with your fellow Spaniards.

#27 The fact that you are taught in school that the Falkland Islands belong to Argentina does not make it so.
History prior to 1982 proved that Argentina gave up the talks and invaded, resulting in loss of life on both sides. This resulted, understandably, in an abiding distrust of Argentina by the islanders - who can blame them?
As I have said before, only actions will convince the islanders that Argentina has changed her gangster attitude though quite how that will ever happen is beyond me given the history of your country on other matters.

I can find no reparations demanded and transferred after the Argentinian surrender in 1982.

Were compensations demanded as part of the surrender?

    Most other wars took the 'pound of flesh' due to the winner, usually land, gold and/or womenfolk;
were the British and TFI so gentlemanly that they let the Argentinians off without paying?

I think there is a good case for a retrospective demand, for something like, err, Patagonia.

Perhaps the allocation of visas for the Olympics should be made contingent on the transfer of, err, Patagonia.

lts no more outrageous than their“claims”to the Falklands etc etc.
Make it just two provinces,Sta Cruz & Chubut, we should give TDF to Chile.

The six times he mentions were diplomatic notes, or suggestions, not formal representations, and at the time they were made there was no International Forum, League of Nations, United Nations, in place for such arbitration.

So your whole post is a complete fabrication Marvin, much like your 1930s false 'claim' of Sovereignty, that your country hasn't the bollocks to take anywhere meaningful, like perhaps the ICJ.

Somewhat off-topic, but a big shout to the American Samoa football team for winning against Tonga.

(It's their first win, and having lost all of their previous thirty international matches, including the record-breaking 31-0 loss against Australia, by all accounts they've thoroughly earned the massive post-match celebrations that they were reported as having).

”Ghengis Khan and his descendants stretch the Mongol Empire across most of Eurasia by conquering and/or creating vassal states out of all of modern-day China, Korea, the Caucasus, Central Asian countries, and substantial portions of modern Eastern Europe, Russia and the Middle East. Many of these invasions resulted in the large-scale slaughter of local populations, which have given Genghis Khan and his empire a fearsome reputation in local histories. Do you think old Ghengis posted notices along his route across Eurasia saying:

” If I win - and I will - 90% of you will be killed, all your women raped and taken as slaves, and all your gold taken. We call this 'Reparations'.“

The whole Argentine country is immature, they are brain damaged by the national cause, so they will never grow up, they will never do anything a little be hard, let alone difficult, they will always take the easy path, like invading FI with over-whelming numbers, or stealing from their neighbours pockets, they are the World's Scavengers, they do nothing for themselves, they just whine and moan and try to steal from the efforts of others, and wail at the injustice of them not getting a free meal, or a free ride, or indeed anything free that they've not worked for. They are the klingons on the arse of the World, a smelly irritation that won't clean itself, they aren't even part of a proper turd, just the leftover skid marks, and the comments made here by the usual suspects from Argentina confirm this every day.

Briton, Spaniards (isn't that what most Argies are?) always seem to struggle with the “s” at the end of my Welsh surname - surprising considering Spanish surnames which end in an “s” do exist, like Carreras, Villalobos, Riveros, Rios, Yanes (and these are just from my contact list, I'm sure there are loads more). Malvinero, you don't even know how dumb you are...

unless i look i only get the first 4 lines,
but as you say, he misses out the [s]
he also adds two [t] for me,
but we can only try to educate them.lol.

Do you want me to buy you a new keyboard, Malvinero1?
There seems to be someting wrong with yours.
l don't think that half the world hates us.
Some undoubtably do; but there is always someone hating someone else.
l don't think that Argentina's neighbours hold you in much affection.
And you are definitely not in the top ten“most lovable”list in the Falkland lslands.
    Funny that!

The only purpose of this is political propaganda. Having created the opportunity to broadcast its propaganda, Argentine authorities will quietly back down. I doubt Argentine authorities ever intend to carry out their plan; however Argentine authorities' actions are already contrary to the Olympic Charter and could cause issues for the Argentine Olympic Team with the IOC. I think the Argentine authorities don't mind that and calculate to get away with their political interference

Ultimately if the plan is carried out, it could result in Argentine sports men and women losing out due to Argentine politics, which is unfair to them when they have trained so hard and have been selected on their own meritorious performance to earn the honor to represent their country in sport, compete for medals and uphold the Olympic ideal

I see british sportsmen and even USA sportsmen claim support for the army killing women and children over seas and you don't hear this charade of BS going on in their blogs, I am not saying this is a conspiracy but why do all british retards end up in Argentine news blogs ?? I don't see this as propaganda but a national agenda. I don't think this can be an optional front for the conflict, I am more inclined to opt for a nuclear defence program in Argentina, but if Argentina's goverment desides that the olympics is a better stage for the conflic they got my support, since my options might lead to a nuclear arm race in Latin America already underway in Brazil. end the illehal occupation of Islas Malvinas Argentina, all british illegal aliens go home.
