“Las Malvinas son argentines” crest for the Argentine Olympic team uniform
The idea is for the bill to be approved on time for the London Olympic Games A draft bill signed by fourteen Argentine lawmakers from the political spectrum calls for all national teams to include in their uniforms the crest of the Islands and the motto “Las Islas Malvinas son argentinas” (The Malvinas islands are Argentine).The sponsors want the bill approved on time for the inauguration of the Olympic Games next year in London.
The initiative was sent to the Sports and Foreign Affairs committees from the Lower House and makes it mandatory to exhibit in all uniforms used by Argentine national teams participating in international competitions, in a clearly visible place and in the shape of a crest, an embroidered relief with the contour of our Islas Malvinas and the reading “Las Islas Malvinas son argentinas”.
It will be the task of the Sports Secretariat to design and approve the crest which must be made official 120 days following on the bill’s approval.
“I consider extremely convenient that this truly national cause has the support of all our national sportspeople” said lawmaker from Tierra del Fuego, Rosanda Bertone. “It’s an excellent opportunity and tribune to uphold our claim by proudly exhibiting our colours and the standing commitment to the recovery of our territories”.
In its considerations the bill points out that the quick sanctioning would make it a magnificent opportunity to attend the Olympic Games in London, next year, with the “unequivocal manifestation of pertaining and the true demonstration of a people’s unity behind an unrenounceable national objective”.
“It would also be an excellent homage to our victims on the coming 30th anniversary of the South Atlantic heroic deed and the best way for our sportspeople, from all over the world and in all disciplines, to exhibit proudly the national and imprescriptible claim over our Islands of the South”.

When nations like North Korea manages to retain dignity, humility and basic respectfulness compared to argentina, you really have to wonder whether it's existence was really worth the genocides caused to build it.
Nov 23rd, 2011 - 05:30 am 0On the other hand, given that Argentina has yet to rise above rank 40 in terms of medals (whereas the UK was at number 4 last year) its not as if anyone will have a chance to read their uniforms. still anything to cow the sheep into hysterical state worship, which is pretty much the only nationalism Argentina can achieve given it's total lack of historical achievements, inventions or importance to rally around.

oh so the war so many shrieking dagos have tried to pretend was ”the sole fault of the junta” is now a heroic deed? and it is so very telling as to just how sickeningly spineless argentina is that it celebrates it's failure and international humiliation at the hands of a REAL nation, while whining it was the victim because it couldnt take britain fighting back.
