Argentine foreign minister Jorge Faurie described the authorization for a regular weekly flight between Sao Paulo, Brazil and the Falkland Islands, with a monthly stopover in Cordoba, as “something very positive”, which has the purpose of “building bridges and creating trust for sovereignty negotiations”
Tierra del Fuego governor Rosana Bertone called the Falkland Islanders fueguinos and invited them to integrate based on respect for cultural diversity. Ms Bertone was addressing the crowd on Sunday at the Malvinas Fallen monument in Ushuaia on Sunday, 35th anniversary of the Argentine military invasion of the Falklands and which according to the local calendar is the Malvinas Veterans and Fallen Day.
Argentina will officially inaugurate this Friday the Vega Pléyade natural gas field, twenty kilometers offshore Tierra del Fuego to the south of the San Sebastián bay. The field started production last February and as a production potential of 10 million cubic meters per day.

With 70.9% of ballot stations counted Victory Front senator Bertone led with 50.1% of votes compared to 46.52% for Sciurano, from the opposition led coalition.
A draft bill signed by fourteen Argentine lawmakers from the political spectrum calls for all national teams to include in their uniforms the crest of the Islands and the motto “Las Islas Malvinas son argentinas” (The Malvinas islands are Argentine).The sponsors want the bill approved on time for the inauguration of the Olympic Games next year in London.
