“Boing Boing”, 'bumbum' - these are somewhat 'childish' expressions to a European

Give me the true Angolan word - 'Bunda' - every time.

Here in Bahia, the prettiest girls are arguably of mixed race (**unlike the non-representative photograph to the article**),
and beach life is a veritable smörgesbord to the senses :-)

I thought 'Boing Boing' was a typical Turkish Airlines landing procedure!

I disagree, Geoff. Mixed race women aren't prettier than anyone else. A woman's attractiveness has more to do with her class status. Poorer women don't take care of themselves as they should, have no sense of style, dress like sluts even when they're overweight (and lots of them are), etc. It's funny that the prettiest women (mostly middle-class girls in their early to mid 20s) are also the most sober when it comes to clothing.

”(**unlike the non-representative photograph to the article**)“

You should know better that they pictures do represent the look of a Brazilian women plus you should know that maybe one or two in the picture might not be full white/caucasian race at all. I typed the word ”might” because we,who don't know their backgrounds, though we all know that many people in many States in Brazil are mixed than anywhere else on earth (black-white (the largest in percentage), white-native american/ indigenous, black-indigenous, white-asian, asian-black (very small percentage), indigenous-asian (also small percentage)

I agree, Fido. But you should take into account that Geoff lives in Salvador, the most African of Brazil's bigger cities. That his impressions are skewed to the African end is to be expected, just as it would be unsurprising if they were skewed to the European end if he lived somewhere in the South.

Geoff lives in Salvador, the most African of Brazil's bigger cities.

But not the majority as some “experts” like to write in magazines for some reason. According to the harvard expert mr Henry Louis Gates Jr, the state of Bahia is the most hybrid (some people get offended by that word, why, don't ask me, but my understand is, it's a term to explain for somebody that is multi- mixed ) State in Brazil and in the world. Majority of the people in Bahia black skin (brown or light skin's are the mulato's and some are even mixed with other races like indiginous) aren't full african (race) at all once their DNA were investigated, but are still black or named black because of their skin color. And if you think about it, not all Africans are black. Take a good look in books Continent Africa and you will even see “white” africans.

Forgetit #3 really understands social Darwinism and the inbuilt weaknesses of his lumpenproletariat.

I love it when you wear the populist mask, Geoff.

    @Fido
True, I myself have seen many, many studies on Black Brazilians showing that they have large non-African ancestry. See the one below. http://web2.sbg.org.br/congress/sbg2008/pdfs2008/23695.pdf

    Hi, Forgetit.
Sometimes you just drop the apple right into my lap! (#8)

I guess you were somewhat embarrassed by #3 once you had pressed the Submit Comment button, and realised what you had posted.

It happens to all of us, but #3 was one of the best ;-)

    . . . . . .. .
    And, replying to 'ed' #6,
Sra Bündchen has always looked good to me - she could look me straight in the eye, and I am tall.
I never really thought about the umlaut, always assuming her name meant 'little waistband', ie great body; but, seeing the umlaut, I now realise that her name means 'small flush-mountable appliance'. Sad, but that's German for you.

But really, there has been nobody in my lifetime to match the exquiste, elegant beauty of Naomi Campbell. Those eyes!

I was not at all embarassed, Geoff. I do wish we had a colder climate so certain women would spare me the sight of their muffin tops.

    ed,
'Amigo GeoffWard lives in Brasil ?'

'Geoff Ward lives?' (Blessed voice of Prince Vultan)
Forgetit would describe me as the keyboard soul of the undead ;)

And yes, coastal northeast Brasil has been my home for some years,
though I am known to inhabit Faria Lima, Esporte Clube Pinheiros and Iguatemi in SP,
also the hills of Campos do Jordão as The Spirit Of The Sussuarana.

    And, Forgetit,
no muffins around here - this is Evangelicaland.
