“Tam is being acquired by Chile's Lan Airlines SA, Latin America's largest carrier by market value, in a 3.3 billion all-stock transaction. ”

    Where is my Seven-Up? :)

You again, here a seven up since you like to drink the kool aid to boost your low self esteem and believe that the Brazilians would allow to be taken over by bunch of Spanish speakers from Chile.

Lan won't own more than 20%, what is a clear rule in Brazil and that's why it's a merger, not a take over as the media confused itself with meaning of both words.

The merger is a good deal for both, but better for TAM that is growing faster than LAN and will have more access to other destinations through LAN. By the way, as I typed before LAN is Chilean Peruvian, since a Peruvian private pension fun holds more than 50% of the shares of LAN.

    Merry Christmas :D

With such quality equity the Peruvians can expect quite a lot of pension fun.

once again, baaaadly informed, Mr “Fido Dido is a dude from the sprite/coca cola marketing to serve the people more kool-aid soft drinks”

But what can we expect from somebody, who doesn't even know his own nick name?

First of all, you did not understand the operation, LAN and TAM found a workarround to sell TAM to LAN without directly breaching brazilian law.
LAN is going to own 100% of TAMs economic interest, and the brazilians will still continue flying under TAM, eventhough that does not tell you alot (similar thing happened to your dutch KLM owned by the frenchies in a head-company by 80% now). Same will happen to TAM and LAN.

There is this one fable which works perfectly to show people like you how it works with fusions:

    The Chicken and the Pig

A Pig and a Chicken are walking down the road.
The Chicken says, “Hey Pig, I was thinking we should open a restaurant!”.
Pig replies, “Hm, maybe, what would we call it?”.
The Chicken responds, “How about 'ham-n-eggs'?”.
The Pig thinks for a moment and says, “No thanks. I'd be committed, but you'd only be involved!”

PS: still waiting for your “half-information” to prove that peruvians have acquired more than 50% of LAN Airlines... given you the prove they have done only for a minority stake of 6,4 %, so since I bought some Thomas Cook shares @ 15 cents, Thomas Cook is a british-chilean company now?!? ;)
