Brazilian plane-maker Embraer will sell its A-29 Super Tucano aircraft to the US Air Force, in a firm-fixed price delivery order contract worth 355 million dollars, the company said in a statement. Read full article
The turboprop is said to have enhanced performance for ambiences such as dense forests. Colombia has often employed them in her fight against the FARCs. As Geoff has guessed, the US probably intends to use them in the fight against drug cartels in Central and northern South America.
As Geoff has guessed, the US probably intends to use them in the fight against drug cartels in Central and northern South America.
If the US is serious about fighting to so called war on drugs and cartels, they would also secure the border with mexico where the drug cartels (who received guns from the US government, read/google scandal obama/bush eric holder fast and furious and I don't mean the movie) also hide and fighting each other, rather than only fighting FARC.

Has Chilean copper already learned to fly? :)
Does Chile has an airplane industry?
Can Chileans produce airplanes?
You are very mistaken if you think this plane belongs in a museum.
It can be equipped with many of the systems used in fast jets: HUD, non-disclosure of position when aquiring target info, etc. Being a turbine gives it fuel advantages and certainly reliability over true jets.
It can also be equipped with up to date ground to air and air to air defence systems and would make an ideal antidrugs attack plane or recon. It has two 0.50 cal machine guns, albeit with only 200 rds per gun but can take additional pods of 0.50 cal or even 20 mm cannon. Alternatively to the pods it's hard points can take 1,500 kg of whatever ordnance you fancy.
I would love the basic trainer as my own personal aircraft, sadly the financial crash put an end to those plans.
I am not Valle Ricardo, but happy to answer you question, forgetit:
Copper has not learned to fly yet, though the T-35 Pillán (prop) and A-36 Halcón (turbine) build by ENAER (Empresa Nacional de Aeronáutica de Chile) do fly quite well.
Does Chile has an airplane industry?
Can Chileans produce airplanes?
All three answers end with an O.
O what a Dick :-)))))
ENAER T-35 Pillán (Spanish pronunciation: [piˈʎan], volcano or ancestral spirit) is a Chilean propeller-driven basic trainer aircraft. The student and the instructor sit in tandem. Production ceased in 1991 after 7 years but restarted briefly in 1998
Get real you moron, all what it produce are components and a bunch of props..how impressive..and I'm not typing they are bad. Even the chileans bought the super tucanos what that hispanic clown valle ricardo forgot.
Yeah, I was already aware of the existence of Enaer - it has partnered with Embraer in some ventures, including in the one that produced the R-99, I believe. But see the product the both of you are showing me. It's very charming indeed, but, like the SuperTucano, it looks like it could fit a WW2 museum well, doesn't it? :)

Your comment is true / these kinds of planes are more useful and economic than fighter jets and helicopters especially for the rough targets.
I don't really know about it's use as a COIN aircraft, I'd imagine that the USAF has more advanced ground-attack aircraft, however it is a very good basic training aircraft. The RAF uses modified Tucanos in that role.
Possibly they're going to be used after the (unarmed) T-6 Texan II, to train for ground attack work while having a second seat for an instructor.

Yes, Artillero, in fact the US is Embraer's main market. Last year (or was it 2010?) Embraer opened its first plant on US soil to build Phenom jets and stay closer to its main clients.
I saw that in many of the American Airlines planes. Is that why they have mechanical problems all the time ?? :-))))) (it was a joke, don't kill me yet)
Since you picked up on a typo in the fist place i don't see how you can get so anal about your your own. You actually defended it my telling us all it was an adjective...very clever. But you never said it was an error. Thanks for playing!

Chau!
Like most other aircraft makers', much of Embraer's components aren't domestically made but produced by risk-sharing partner companies across the world. If there are mechanical flaws in airplanes, the Koreans or the French may very be to blame for them.
Show me your Spanish skills. Translate these paragraphs for me.
UK manufacturers have worst quarter since 2009 recession

”The closely watched Markit Purchasing Managers Index survey, (...) showed a reading of 49.6 last month (...) below the 50 mark which signals expansion.

And yeah, batty boy, I intended to use 'calm' as an adjective to #4 (as in calm post #4), but I (prematurely?) recognized the 'mistake' after a native Anglophone persisted in rebutting it. I don't pretend that my English competes with that of a native, so I'm ready to accept corrections from people who are supposed to have better skills than me. But wait...are you admiting that I indeed could have used calm as an adjective? So why were you persisting in presenting it as a mistake? B/c you feel the need to spin words, mine or your own, in order to not admit faux pas? Why are you so insecure? This is internet, what you say on some discussion is of no consequence to your life and nobody cares about that. Don't be so insecure.
Wait...
I went back to your post #26 to confirm that you were really addressing me. Post isn't there anymore. No wonder you so comfortable at lying about your words.

What's the matter with your post? Your not OK? What? Why so obstruse. I see that no matter how much you sound self-superior with those effete rants, you can't disguise the fact that you're losing cool, Lyin'. Apart from an extra with in the post you quoted, there's really nothing that isn't understandable about my post, so much so that you did reply to it, didn't you? And what if it wasn't really understandable? English isn't my mother tongue and thus it doesn't of necessity reflect badly on me the fact that I'm bound to make mistakes. Now, you live in Argentina and can't even write...Chilenos. And you refuse to translante some simple sentences that anyone with a basic command over the Spanish language could tranlaste to English. Just admit you can't really produce a meaningful sentence in Spanish. That's OK. You can't really do anything. Your sole rhetorical tool is those flamboyant, catty flourishes typical of prissy men and the divas they worship. Just another pitiful buffoon trying to prove herself over the internet.
And yes, I'm will still be going on...as much as you are.
You have proven to every one you limitations and you hang ups. I have a life so I am not wasting anymore time on you. You are an idiot and as such i will lose any argument with you as you will not comprehend a thing. It was amusing to to get your blood pressure up though. Something i'm sure the doctor will need to speak to you about.
Idiots will always want the last word so take the stand old boy.

@Poster who's apparently just signed up to tell me that
It wasn't me who felt the need to chase that...person on other threads, was it? It was he who did that, so in spite of his self-superior rants, it was he who was in need to discharge his pent-up anger. You go advise him.

Yes, Artillero, in fact the US is Embraer's main market. Last year (or was it 2010?) Embraer opened its first plant on US soil to build Phenom jets and stay closer to its main clients.
Jan 03rd, 2012 - 02:47 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I saw that in many of the American Airlines planes. Is that why they have mechanical problems all the time ?? :-))))) (it was a joke, don't kill me yet)
Jan 03rd, 2012 - 03:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0#37. it is isn't it?LOL
Jan 03rd, 2012 - 03:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0#TIT aka Col. Frank Fitts USMC (American beauty)
Since you picked up on a typo in the fist place i don't see how you can get so anal about your your own. You actually defended it my telling us all it was an adjective...very clever. But you never said it was an error. Thanks for playing!
My Spanish skills are fine Trolo. Still learning...are you. T..Y...P...O... do you understand? is anybody in there?
In answer to the rest of your incoherent drivel...No.
my my you sure think your important don't you? Yes you got it.. I was addressing it solely to you so you could feel useful again..there...do you feel wanted now?
I car not where your from. Glad you have time on your hands to try and guess mine...LOL
#38 WOW....TIT....5 minutes on Wikipedia and your an expert. You almost sound like you know what your talking about.
Chau!
Like most other aircraft makers', much of Embraer's components aren't domestically made but produced by risk-sharing partner companies across the world. If there are mechanical flaws in airplanes, the Koreans or the French may very be to blame for them.
Jan 03rd, 2012 - 03:17 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The Airline has obviously financial problems. it took 3 different airplanes to get to Buenos Aires from Dallas. What a disaster !

Jan 03rd, 2012 - 03:41 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Show me your Spanish skills. Translate these paragraphs for me.
UK manufacturers have worst quarter since 2009 recession
Manufacturers ended 2011 with their worst quarter since Britain was in the grip of recession (...)
”The closely watched Markit Purchasing Managers Index survey, (...) showed a reading of 49.6 last month (...) below the 50 mark which signals expansion.
Go there, don't think overusing boludo or trolo” is an overwhelming proof of your proficiency.
I car
Glad you have time on your hands to try and guess mine...LOL
Couldn't care less where you're from. Native Anglophones, British or otherwise, are notoriously incompetent in learning a foreign language. Just go talk to yankeeboy. And if you aren't a Native English-speaker - I couldn't care less about getting that wrong.
#5 minutes on Wikipedia and your an expert.
Discuss Embraer with me, and you're be left hurting more than at the night you met Ricardo.
@Artillero
Jan 03rd, 2012 - 03:44 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Do you work for AA? Have they closed operations yet?
@44 No I don't. When I came back from BA in November, I saw the announcement on TV about Bankruptcy. I knew something bad was going on, too many cancellations, mechanical problems, etc .
Jan 03rd, 2012 - 03:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@40 USMC (American beauty) Hurrah !! Although a very fine Institution , nothing better than the Rangers and Green Berets .... WHOA !!!!
You live(d) in Texas, right? What did/do you in there? I was pretty sure you worked for an airline company, I just was not sure which one.

Jan 03rd, 2012 - 05:46 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I will say it again. My spanish skills are fine. I dont need to prove it to you or anyone else on this site. Why? Because it is in English you stupid moron.
Did I ever say I was an expert in Spanish...er...no! again what a Pr#ck.
So you meant to say the adjective Calm in your post. Ok. I'll say again what is a Calm then. What the F#ck are you trying to say Trolo? I was trying to help you out and give you the benefit of the doubt that it was a typo by hey..if you admit it then who am I to argue....Calm it is then. more incoherent nonsence from a has been.
what fax pas? you still going on about a typo? SAD.
funny how you spin the typo when you want though eh. Pot and kettle dimwit.
Discuss Embraer with me, and you're be left hurting more than at the night you met Ricardo. Jesus Christ what have they diagnosed you with? you need to keep taking the meds. It is becoming funnier reading your ramblings.
I bet listening to you on a Friday night goeas REEEAAAALLLYYYY quick.
How interesting! ............yawn

Jan 03rd, 2012 - 06:18 pm - Link - Report abuse 0OK then you meant to write it and it's not a typo.
.
”The both of you queer boys pretty much set the tune and the discussion level when you responded with my calm #4 with prissy answers at #16 and #17.
my Calm #4.......what gibberish?
Speaka da ingliish dimwit. This is not a sentence that would be understood by a native English speaker. Perhaps in Africa somewhere?
OMG your still going on aren't you? OK I can see you hurt that you mat come across as argentine. Your not then OK?
You really are hilarious. I actually don't need too write very much as your doing the hard work for me.
Talk to me about the Embraer Super Tucano aircraft. I love it when talk about Aircraft....really gets me going...........going............gone. yaaaawwwwnnnnn!
Jan 03rd, 2012 - 06:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0And yes, I'm will still be going on...as much as you are.

Something i'm sure the doctor will need to speak to you about.
Idiots will always want the last word so take the stand old boy.
