    Dicta-Dura, Dicta-blanda, Makes no difference.
Chile owes it's present stable economy largely to the dictatorship, military regime or whtever you may call it. As usual, Chilenos are playing semantics. Facts are facts. says Frei. He just forgot to say that during the time of the Allende government you couldn't get toilet paper, and the only florishing business was the black market. The dictatorship put the country back on track both economically and sicially, a girl could walk any time at night alone without fear. Today Chile IS the best country in South America, and NOT because of Allende. End of story.

2# How people are today is what 1# is concerned about. He doesn't care who pays the price as long as he is okay.Capitalist mind not a real mind.Pinochet was a gangster installed by yanqui gangsters and was to cowardly to face justice.

Had a Latin American left-wing regime done that to a socialist dictatorship, no doubt the likes of wangito would be crying “Chavista”.

sure! but they didn't. I give Britain points for at least detaining that murderous bastard, although in the end they didn't have the cojones to put him on trial. Idiots like him give military people a bad reputation. A truly patriotic soldier would never agree to follow orders from a foreign country, be it USA or USSR. Those monsters like pinochet and videla were never true patriotic soldiers, their choices ensured history remembers that their uniform was only a costume.
