So is this because the national herd is at the lowest it has been or is it because the breeding programme failed or what?

The govt should aid the farmers as much as possible to increase the breeding programme to raise the output WHILST maintaining sufficient breeding stock for the year after.

If the present trend continues the export numbers will fall and eventually there is a limit to how much people will pay and the UYU income will collapse.
