Seems that president Cristina Fernandez doesn't want to nominate a qualified diplomat for such critical and sensible position in London - maybe she's afraid that someone with the right credentials may explain her that the current policies toward the Falklands are not the most appropriate.

A veritable sinecure if there ever was one.

Along with its counterpart UK representation in Buenos Aires, now here we have two lonely and basically useless posts.

If the Foreign Office wish to call on her do thy simply press the stewardess button by the seat and ask her for a gin & tonic?

Rather than be mature Kirchner and act in a diplomatic she has decided to appoint a mini cris. I am sure she will continue the bellicose sabre rattling of her boss.
This current attitude may well be music to the ears of Chavez and his like but it does nothing for the Islanders. At the end of the day her royal highness Cristina will have to convince the Islanders. Perhaps she needs to take note of the “Guido di Tella” approach which certainly obtained a number of concessions for the argentines in the past.
But them again that wouldn't help her poll rating.

Q: What do you call a career diplomat in Argentina?
A: Unemployed, because all relevant vacancies are filled by political appointees without expertise in International Relations.

Argentina is a nice place. It's a shame it's run by amateurs.

Sra Castro is going to have a busy time!

“The Government of the United Kingdom strongly objects to your economic blockade of the Falkland Islands.”

“The Government of the United Kingdom strongly objects to your harassment of fishing vessels.”

“The Government of the United Kingdom strongly objects to your failure to act in compliance with the UN Charter.”

“The Government of the United Kingdom strongly objects to your illegal pronouncements that affect ”right of innocent passage.”

And those are only the messages she will be required to convey to CFK on her first day!

After that she'll have a quiet time. The UK has nothing to say to Argentina about the Falkland Islands. Why should it have anything to say to a wannabe argie dominatrix?

What a complete waste of time sending this woman to London.

Given her past 'career' if you can call it that, and her fixation with the Falklands (there are no Malvinas) CFK's wasting the first class airfare sending her to The Court of St. James's.

Being a very polite people no-one put forward by a bona-fide country has ever been refused accreditation to the Court: but maybe she will be the first.

What an opportunity wasted, but why are we not suprised.

Why did she stop being an air stewardess? Was it because she has a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp?

Federico Mirré retired and was not replaced as a way of expressing the Argentine government’s disappointment with the UK
[So now you except , that you have no chance, .,we knew that all the time ]

CFK said her government will continue to insist with the same current policy of claiming the Malvinas in all world forums but with no “intemperate shouting or xenophobe gestures

And then promptly calls us colonialists and the bad guys, the violent guys of this picture
[Typical child, always has to get the last insult in, even when she is the liar

    [][ ] Ms Castro a former air stewardess []
Apparently she refuses to reveal whether she was in the
MILE HIGH CLUB or not ,
    Not an interesting thought.
