Not to worry! With the approval of recent anti-piracy laws, apparently Cameron will be returning the islands. ;)

    UK says :

Naming of Argentne ambassador to London, calls for “” strengthened cooperations “”.....

    I say :

To where we are now headed to leave us with no surprise becouse all we have had to do is note to exact turning points in the past that allow us to
document what is going to happen in the future. This is not magic, nor is it based on myths or legends ,but, rather, it is knowing the commonalities of human history and then applying them to current events.!.....

    'fugly'???
You're a dinosaur. If being under 40 and attractive was an essential qualification for being an ambassador I don't think many of them would be keeping their jobs.

all the british want is peace, and welcomes her into the fold,
perhaps the goverment will pander to her whimes,
but will the argies claim it as a victory ,
or exceptence of the status quoe, that the falklands are british,
    time will tell .

I fail to see how a templated response given by the UK government can be classed as PRAISE. The headline is misleading when it states the UK government praises the appointment of argentine ambassador, when in fact all they have done is give a templated response, that no doubt is sent out or similar response sent out, when all new ambassadors are appointed and accepted.

Perhaps changing it from Praises to acknowledges or confirms, would be more appropriate mercopress.

Mercopress doesn't really “do” English, as it is spoke proper. Anyone noticed the number of times it uses some form of the word “ratify”?

I told you the British were very polite, even to avowed Malvinistas such as this woman.

She will soon learn that it is the Falklands (there are no Malvinas).

Never mind, our gracious Queen (we have a real one without plastic) will make her welcome.

I just wonder how long she will last before her inapropriate experience will out and she loses her temper (just like the Queen of Plastic herself)?

    Pirat-Hunter

That's a bit rich coming from you. When are you ever going to explain- according to the general usages of the term “pirate”- how it is that the people who live in the Falkland Islands are, as you say, pirates. You've never explained it and the dwindling number of posts on The Falklands threads show just how bored everyone is getting with posts like yours.

So go on; have a go at explaining how they or their descendants are in fact pirates. Don't resort to your usual dribble. Try to stick to the officially accepted definitions for pirate and explain what acts of piracy these poor (not monetarily poor of course- they are about to be the richest people on this planet) people did to become pirates.

When you've done that, get a new hobby. This one will not bring you any long-term joy.

Briton already posted the list of pirates famous or otherwise,
    And not one was British,

So you may not get the answer you want,
But even pirates had a code of ethics,
And people who try to take, what is not theirs, were made to walk the plank, perhaps he was one of the unfortunate ones, and thus holds a grudge.
    Just a planking thought. arr,,

Very interesting article. I pasted some of it on the thread with the photo of CFK but it didn't all fit. I must go back and post the rest.

The Argentines on Mercopress will be asking all of the people featured in the piece to translate something written in English into Spanish because they won't believe they are Argentine. LOL!

General Sir Michael Jackson is at least five years out of date: that is a lifetime nowadays.

I remember him failing his squaddies by not ensuring they had the correct equipment issued to them. Three of my army friends who were going to Iraq had to buy their own desert boots and bullet proof vests (flack jackets are useless).

Not impressed, he even reckons Argentina could make another attempt: but does not say what with. Perhaps Chavez's bunch of old gits home guard could help.

One is always amused to see foreigners who make themselves foolish in trying to inform the English, exactly how they should speak English, when all the time, they know not how to speak the language them selves .

Learning the queens is not enough, for they must first enjoy the splendour of slang and local accents to make such a judgement of the people who live and speak the English language every day,

For we would not dare tell them how to speak their spoken word, would we.
From such a lowly person, im at a loss as to how they can define what I say and how I say it, then proceed to tell me that I am wrong,

So I the words of Shakespeare,
It is my play, and I will play it my way.

I have been on here posting for the true Argentines, not the leftists traitors or the Anglos like Philipi, for years. I am a true Argentine patriot read my words for you will pay a high price when we retake our farms from you, like Africans have repossessed your colonial farms in Africa.

In 1970's my father responsible for helping to disappear many thousands of political traitors from this country but his work was undo by failiur of our coward military to win Las Mavlinas battle. But always remember that parents of disapeared were praising their government when we re-occupied Las Malvinas, this is proof that people believe in our country more than they care for their family. This is what make Argentine such strong country.

We can be strong again, with all our might and all our passion directed at Las Malvinas and ignore all our problem at home, we can again be strong.

Never give in to English colonials because our blood is thicker than water and the blood of Las Malvinas I believe is black gold for which many of us with right connections can get very rich from.

My grandparents move to Argentina from Italy after the war due to British occupation and my grandfather being wanted on false accusations of war crimes. he went on to work for military government in 1950's and helped shape Argentine intelligence, in techniques for obtaining information from leftists and in nutating their political views.

'We can be strong again' no you cannot, because murdering people like that just makes you cowardly psychopaths.

Not only that, your wop grandfather 'being wanted on false accusations of war crimes' LIKE FATHER LIKE SON (your father).

If this really is your family history I would keep my mouth shut in case someone (like me) came along and slashed your left carotid artery, your windpipe and your right carotid artery from behind you before you even knew what was happening. AND I am just the man to avenge the poor bastards your bastard wop grandfather and father murdered.

Argentines are not very bright, given the choice between fascism and democracy they have chosen fascism every time. Given the choice between American hegemony and being an independent nation, they have chosen America hegemony every time, characterised by its attendant secret police (NSA, CIA, Special Forces and other such gestapo trappings, including their own) and an attendant military or militant right government.

Given the choice between being diplomacy and child like spats of anger and lies, they choose child like spats of anger and lies.

Argentina has never recovered from being a wannabe be Axis power in the 1930's. Argentina's version of fascism (like that of Spain's) remained undefeated by WW2 Allied powers. It hadn't even had to fight a real civil war to maintain power, just murder 50,000-100,000 of its own unarmed political activists and we all know how easy that was for their brave and heroic military men, like their hero Commander Astiz.

It took the Falklands War to shake the Argentines into some semblance of reality. Remove their military government and see the Americans as something other than a benevolent uncle, rather more like a the uncle you kept your children away from, you know the one in the old mack who always had his hands in his pockets and a grimace on his lips.

But within a few short years a girl came alone, a wannabe Eva Peron and took them all the way back to year zero! And the Argentine people gave up their collective memory and switched back to servile child.

In the West it's very difficult to understand how the average Argentine thinks. We have to imagine how our own per-adolescent children think and we can then get into their mindset. Give them a box of toy soldiers & some flags to play with and they are as happy as pie, tell them that they can't own Tracey Island though and they will cry their eyes out.

At school, the teachers would always tell them “Tracey Island” was their's. Even though the reality was, it wasn't..
