That rain is too late for Corn but may help Soy although I hear at least 30% of the crop is already gone. Soy is down 9% yoy so that's at least 9% less tax revenue and more importantly is the trade deficit. That is the real reason there are no imports allowed.

4 yankeeboy (#) Yes, the corn (maize to us) has gone and is being used as forage. The damage to the Soy bean is serious and cannot be undone by the rains which started coming last week in an intermittent manner. Let's see how the govt is going to handle this seeing as they said that the drought was being exaggerated.
