Yes, ChrisR (@1) , your are right, this lands are stolen by the british pirates. But, you need to know that this fact is known for a lot of people around the world not only the argentine people. I´m not from argentina and I clearly know that uk has stolen a lot of lands around the world. Some of them were returned after a lot of claims of the countries involved, and others are still usurped by uk using its military force, for example Gibraltar, Malvinas, among others. It´s not necessary to be from Argentina to know this truth. Everybody who is interested in learning something of history and with an impartial view can know that uk is the most colonialist and imperialistic country of the world. But don´t worry this country since some decades ago is clearly loosing economic and politic power in the world, and everybody knows it, including the british people. Therefore this country tries to keep this power in some way, and to do that it tries to maintain these stupid colonies around the world. All the world knows the truth, please don´t lie anymore.
@6 johnfarrel2050,
All the world again.
Perhaps you'd like to tell us all, john, on what basis does Argentina claim South Georgia & the South Sandwich lslands?
Bearing in mind, john, that the British claimed them first, no Argentine has ever lived there & they are hundreds(more like a thousand, l think) of kilometres from Argentina.
Why, john, why? What are your rights.
Please tell me your reasons.
@4 No such thing as Chagossians. You really must try to do some proper research. They are actually Ilois. No Ilois has ever owned any property on the Chagos Archipelago. Ilois were slaves and itinerants. They and their descendents have been compensated for their removal, necessitated by the need to construct a base for forces to protect against terrorists, rogue states and so forth. May well be an appropriate location from which to launch an assault force against a certain colonialist bandit country in South America.
They are more than a thousand nautical miles from Argentina never mind kms, on a different tectonic plate, and under the treaty of Tordisilla well inside Portuguese territory.
I have never yet heard what is the basis of the Argintinian claim.
@13 I've tried to get the Argies to tell me what their criteria is for ownership of the south atlantic islands and they haven't even bothered to respond.
Clearly it's just because 'they wantssss their precious, they wantsss it.'
Jealousy for the defeated , always throwing mud around,

@13 Pugol-H,
l asked Think this very question once & his answer was because we want them!
l think tobias is the only other RG to answer & he actually admitted that the lslands are not theirs.
Can't remember, think it was him.
l guess they've been separated from the Falklands so that they will remain British if, horror of horrors, the Falklands are ever lost to the great unwashed horde♥

@18 Those Argies do put a lot of energy into their being defeated though. Now apparently ARG.gov are lobbying businesses to stop them sourcing from British suppliers (http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/argentina-warns-companies-to-replace-british-suppliers-in-push-for-talks-over-the-falklands/2012/02/28/gIQASTdmgR_story.html)

Feb 29th, 2012 - 11:00 am - Link - Report abuse 0You can NEVER trust the politicians.
I never thought that a Conservative government would ban legally held pistols, but the bastards did.
However, at the moment, it seems unlikely in the extreme that it will happen with the Falklands (there are no Malvinas).
You can NEVER trust the politicians
Feb 29th, 2012 - 07:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I think we all agree on that one .
