“However the Argentine government says it is not threatening YPF, but rather demanding that the corporation abides by laws in defence of the interests of Argentina.”

Is it me or is there rather a glaring contradiction in that statement? I'm glad they are irritating the Spanish too as it show's they don't even understand which side of their bread is buttered.

    They just want the money.

They do not care WHERE it comes from as long as it does not come from the pockets of the CFK mafia.

Should be interesting. Argieland harasses Spanish fishing vessels. Argieland harasses Spanish-controlled company. Argieland harasses Uruguay. Argieland harasses Chile. Is there a problem around the world with recognising this rogue state for what it it?

A brit bitching about a rogue state. Classic. Argentina will harrass you, the islanders, all euroepan nations, all latin american nations, China, Russia, Iran, Israel, and every other country in the world (even the USA, remember ”Planegate), and get away with it.

I think that's what you can't stand. It's terrible for my country medium term, but if it's going to happen this way, at least the fact it boils your blood Conqueror makes it slightly less intolerable.

@4 What you don't seem to realise is that it will be terrible for your country medium term, and for us it won't matter one jot. We'll still be laughing at you.

    Our blood boileth not.

    4. Your country is on the same path as Venezuela w/o the oil revenue. The $ is gone and there is no way to get any more. Short to Medium term is terrible but what about long term? You need to go back to a ruthless dictator and let them fix this mess. This brief experiment with democracy has not and will not work, your population is too uneducated and corrupt to have a well run democratic republic. Its too bad the Ks destroyed your military that was your last hope.

Correct! I have been thinking this for a little while now.

There is no credible opposition to the CFK dynasty. As long as a military coup did not end up with another Falklands (there are no Malvinas) invasion then at least a grip could be got over the tax evasion, reducing the dead hand of the unions and sorting the infrastructure out.

The population would not be happy about living under a military dictatorship perhaps. But how many are happy living under the present harridan, apart from those lining their pockets at the expense of everyone else?

@4 I think you misunderstand the real situation. Nobody really supports your colonialist claims. Nobody will actually come to your assistance when a real country decides to wipe you off the face of the planet. You don't have any “friends”. You don't have any real “allies”. Let's hear from the world. Who's ready to support argie claims? Who's ready to support argie attacks? Who's ready to object to argieland being turned into a crater? Argies! No guts, no truth, no justification, no reason not to die. Perhaps 50,000 argie dead would get the message across. But 50,000 is such a small number. Perhaps 30,000,000 would be a better figure.

The important thing that has to be considered is this: Uncivilised animals have to be taught that they must not attempt to overcome civilised nations. Argies, together with their nazi forebears, must not be allowed to overcome civilised countries. Nazis, and argies, have to die. The proper world cannot tolerate argie imperialist colonialists.

    6. According to my friend's family members living under a military dictatorship was not so bad. There was very little crime and economy more or less functioned. I think it would be much better than they have it now. Since the 80s it has been one upheaval after the next with no end in sight and generations of wealth has been lost.
Not all countries can have democracy, I think this is one of the big problems that the US makes, some people are meant to be ruled.

On the bright side, Argentina will soon be able to buy its oil & gas from the Falklands, and save on the cost of transporting it long distances.

Wouldn’t it be nice, to see Argentina fall out with Spain, then perhaps they will hate them with as much vigour as us lol.
Perhaps these silly Argies will burn Spanish flags, complain to the UN abt Spain, perhaps Argentina will claim some Spanish territory, im sure these Argies bloggers can come up with some excuses and dates and claim the Spanish stole them, perhaps the world will back you against Spain,
    Block all Spanish flag vessels,
Oh dear, first Britain, now Spain, who next we wonder will Argentina start on, pick on, or abuse,
[Still] for a nation that is riding high, with the world backing her, has no worries, mmm
Still, that’s what dreams are made of, [are they not.
