Any negotiations “must start from a position of trust” Falklands tells Argentina

Negotiations must start from a position of trust and “it is hard to trust a Government who so easily break their word, and who deny our right to exist as a people”, said Falklands lawmaker Roger Edwards in response to the announcement by Argentine President Cristina Fernandez on direct air-links to the Falklands. Never trust an Argentinian to keep there word on anything. They will simply lie until they die.

    so..

Mount Pleasant, East Falkland (MPN) to Ascension Island Wideawake Airport (ASI) = 3,922 miles
Mount Pleasant, East Falkland (MPN) to Buenes Aires, ARG (AEP) = 1,187 miles
Mount Pleasant, East Falkland (MPN) to Cape Town, South Africa (CPT) = 3980 miles
Mount Pleasant, East Falkland (MPN) to Auckland, New Zealand (AKL) = 5,527 miles

It's the same distance from Cape Town to Falklands as New York to London, so shouldn't be too bad. besides it's better than always using the air bridge.

    @ 4, love it!
How can you trust a politician like her, talk about mixed messages, i do wonder what planet she is one sometimes and surely her country must think the same?
@3 you may not think Mr Edwards is anyone important but he speaks out for all the Falkland Islanders as one of the elected councillors and i couldn't agree more with his response to this lunatic's CFK's pathetic attempts at negotiation. Why the hell would you want to trust that mad cow?

How blatant is that by the UN Decolonisation committee to allow itself to be manipulated by the RG's in such a way, changing the date to suit The Botox Queen.

    Staggering.

Morning All! Nice to see youve all been winding each other up in the traditional manner! I thought id try and lighten the mood:

I had an argument with a girl I know last night. She was saying how that it's unfair that if a guy f@#ks a different girl every week, he's a legend, but if a girl f@#ks just two guys in a year, she's a slut.

So in response I told her that if a key opens lots of locks, then it's a master key. But if a lock is opened by lots of keys, then it's a shitty lock.

    That shut her up.

I just opened that link ! my god does that lady ever shut that big mouth ! anyway unless the people are unhappy on the island which they are clearly not, I cant imagine them getting anywhere with that meeting unless they take it to the ICJ that would be very interesting ! probably see a smoke shape of CFK in her chair while fleeing for the exit ..

I bet they have a nice spread though..and maybe she will convince them to like Mate ! which to me it's yukkk

@6 The issue with the C24 is not that 'she changed the date'. The issue is that the C24 is there to 'decolonise non-self governing territories', it doesn't fulfill it's remit and the list of these territories is very out of date.

Spain and Argentina's attempts to recolonise these territories is using it completely against it's remit. It's not a forum for discussion on turning effectively self-governing territories into new colonies, based upon the whim of fascist failed states that are delinquent in following binding UN rules (UNSCR 502) . Thankfully the UK refuses to deal with this anachronism slash den of iniquity, as any right minded state would not.

This is basically the shame of the UN. Apparently the glory days of this institution are gone, it's become a complete furk-show with no idea of what it's doing while Ban Ki-moon just sits around trying to find jobs for fellow Koreans. Better yet, just cut it's funding to the basics... then it has to choose what's important.

    @11
Well, it all started when Buenos Aires asked Artigas, chief of Orientales to help oust the Spanish Viceroy following the abdication of King Ferdinand VII in favour of Napoleon. After achieving an initial victory on May 1811, Buenos Aires turned their back on Orientales and Artigas and had traded them to the Portuguese in exchange of a few favours by 1816. They handed Uruguay to the Portuguese, reneging on every pact ever made! Now, let's see... if they were theirs, what would they trade the Falklands for?

    Roger Edwards
It is clear negotiations must start from a position of trust,
    Sir,
Might I suggest, that if you are /or want to trust in trust, then while you are on the subject, might I suggest the islanders ask/request then all or any further talks, must start with a gesture of trust that you can all see, thus you should request that CFK and her government starts by [removing the Falklands and the sovereignty claim from the argentine constitution]
This may well go someway to start the trust, as if they are serious about trust, by removing this offending article, would go a long way towards trust,
And why not, as they broke all other existing agreements, I think that before any re-negotiations ,
The islanders can demand something of their very own, and this offending item in their constitution should be removed,
    That just my opinion.

A direct flight to and from BA is a good idea. BUT, people must be free to choose. That means allowing charter flights and flights to and fr Punta, or anywhere else. Perhaps agreeing to talks would be a good move, as it is the appropriate place to play the Self-determination card and to institue a Malvinas within the Falklands. The proposed talks are non-binding so you could walk away.

Truth is islanders have little interest in Argentina as they are all from UK.

@22 And you want the Islanders to TRUST you? After a comment like that? As a Brit, I'll happily trust any argie afterwards. After what, you ask. One minute after the detonation of a suitable “device”, provided they were all standing at “ground zero”.

@23 I understand why you have used quotation marks. It's doubtful if you could find a “human” being in argieland. In order to dispel all possibilities, it's also doubtful that you could find a “human being”, a human “being”, a “human”, a human or a human being in argieland either. Unless they were a foreigner passing through (as fast as possible). Argieland doesn't produce humans. It just breeds rats! Like yourself.

It always leads back to the same thing. Having had their expansionism thwarted throughout history, argentinians return to openly expressing their wish to have the islands they never owned stripped of any kind of humanity in their unmitigated thirst for someone else's property.

It's always simmering just below the surface.

@26 There really is only one solution. Rats, and other vermin, have to be exterminated. Nothing else will “solve” the “problem”. The rats will never admit they are wrong. Simple choice really, isn't it? 3,140 people or 40 million rats.

@27 given the amount of programming that your average Argentinian goes through during school and Kirchner-Hitler Youth League, in order to get them to believe that Peronism works (it clearly fails at every corner). You're going to always have issues changing their cognition. Thankfully, most North Koreans (BFF of Argentina) who also have to endure this type of programming seem to quite quickly blend into a normal South Korean society, with only a few minor issue around them still trying to boil up their shoes for soup.

I think in the case of Peronism it is more like a chicken. If you cut off the head, it wanders around aimlessly for a while before it quietly bleeds to death. Then Argentinians can get on with being normal humans and corruption will have gone.

Argentina shouldn't legitimize any deals with pirates, thieves and armed terrorists, let's follow USA example on how to deal with filthy rats.
Let's invite all nations to fish our waters for a special price until all fish is gone the way USA and UK did in Malvinas. Argentina should always followthw white trash lead. Do to them as they do to others.

    FALKANDS 9,430,000 results
    MALVINAS 175,000,000 results

Then i shifted to spanish version of google, guess what !!?

    FALKLANDS 9.430.000 resultados
    MALVINAS 175.000.000 resultados

Woow, what a difference.... it seems that MALVINAS is preferred by the 95 % of the writers in whe WORLD. isn't it the word that argentineans name their islands ?
