Sounds like the UK is having fun with its allies at the expense of Argentina.

Not surprising really given the ludicrous rhetoric and abuse of the Falkland's islanders.

This is what happens when you mess with the big boys of the international community. I should imagine this is just the start of things to come.

No attacks on the UK or any of its islands will go unanswered and the USA is the UK's closest friend even if Obama isn't so willing to maintain the friendship alot of the other powerful people in the USA wish to do so.

Aren't the American's the argies new best friends and allies, supporting them in their dribblings about the Falklands? ha ha ha! The US knows who they would rather fight alongside in the future....

@1 This is all independent of the UK. It's from the Argentinians Default, and their inability to pay US creditors. They basically ignored lots of rulings in the USA and even tried to get the case taken to Argentina where it wouldn't be at all biased.

This has been slow boiling for ages.

    Spot on.

Seems to me as though the US and UK has got together and decided that the country needs to be economically crippled.

when you shout your mouth off as the RG's are doing inevitably there is a payback - this is it.

Modern wars are fought economically and the Argentine is ripe for being fucked over in this fashion.

Great stuff - as the pressure mounts on The Botox Queen - gotcha!

@3 - Did you consider the timing of all of these events, you are a smart person GreekY.

Seems the timing can only suggest one thing to me, although I do respect you.

Obvious whats going on. The US has been waiting for this opportunity to stick it to the Argies and here is the perfect opportunity. The UK has now given in to their request to end the current foul BA regime, by bankrupting it.

Remember as well that the RG's have sided with Chavez, Castro and the Syrians - the exact regimes that the Yanks despise.

Argentina is a weak nation with little going for it but considering the way a country of 40m has bullied 3,500 FI then it deserves all it gets.

The worm is definitely turning and it would be interesting to know if the RG's have had a little word in their ear about what happens next if they continue this ridiculous charade.

They have gone very quiet in the last few days and perhaps by now they know the score.

They can hate the “gringo, colonialist, imperialist pirates all they like” but we fortunately carry the influence in world affairs.

    Fuck you Argentina (FURG) :-)

Lets remember that if the UK gets caught up in a war with Argentina (wont last long but hear me out) it means that our troops will be taken away from fighting alongside the Yanks in Afghanistan and inevitably Iran.

    The Yanks wont want that.

the proper war is elsewhere. We dont need a pretendy one against a pretendy military who will run away when they see a British Marine or PARATROOPER.

This article is not about the UK. Read it. (You can find the article else where too.) What you suggest is pure speculation relative to the said article. In fact, UK is not even mentioned. You are baiting and trolling.

This is nothing more than a shakedown from an administration ( Patty Husein O'bongo) that is in need of money.

“Azurix Corp, a Houston-based water services”

a subsidy of that corrupt ENRON (that went bust by FRAUD)

This is nothing to do with the UK. It is simply indicative of how the Argentine regime manages to irritate most of the world simultaneously. It will probably lead to the USA & UK to collude in putting pressure on Argentina but their motives are different.

For those who have never lived in Argentina winter is a very sad time. It is gray and rainy people stay in because they spent all of their money on summer travel and are saving for next year. Business slows down and people are cold and miserable.
Every single headline recently has been something very bad for Argentina; Drought, Slowing economy, high inflation, strikes, high utility bills, train crash, lower consumer confidence, corruption and it is all coming to a head right now. As they go into winter with no U$ to pay for LNG it is going to be COLD and they will have to limit gas sales to the high users. Who in turn will lay off workers and lower production.
The next few months will be pivotal and facinating to watch them scramble.
The only ones in the world who didn't see this coming were the brainwashed RGs. Funny how they have all disappeared with the ever worse headlines. It is pretty hard to say all of the media is lying.
I thought I had to go to BA 1st quarter but I was able to push it off until later this year. I can't wait to see what things cost and how bleak it is during winter. Luckily I have U$ to spend!

There were fuel shortages when I was there last July/August.

I don't think there are that many Argentine bloggers. They just seem to come back with a new identity.

    21.
The fuel shortages are going to get much worse since they are out of U$ at the cost is skyrocketing. Soy for Oil anyone? anyone?

Yes they do seem to have multiple personalities. I love when they have conversations supporting each other and it is obvious by the grammar and spelling mistakes it is the same person!

I wonder if O'Gara lost his job at the locutorio?

#9 - You're right. We have enough problems with the Afghans going crazy because we burned their stupid book. The last thing we want is you guys pulling out of the Middle East suddenly to go and make Argentina cry... again....

Remember though, this is being RECOMMENDED to Obama. It isn't his idea and he has a long history of bending over for our enemies instead of listening to his own people. Hopefully he won't have a choice. These corrupt third-worlders need to know that they are always (and always will be) at the mercy of Western power and if they start causing trouble, we can put them into the economic situation of North Korea if we so desire.

By the way, hopefully we won't need to waste any lives in Iran. Israel can send in its troops and we can just cover them with cruise missile attacks on Iranian bases and carpet bombings on their political centers. All we have to do is enable the Israelis. I don't think we'll have to subject our troops to the cowardly slaughter tactics of these religious fanatics. At least, I hope not.

@23 I wouldn't worry about the book burning and all that. People who live by authoritative ideologies typically get upset when people burn their written canon. Imagine a chinese person burning Mao's little red book, you would have been hung and all uproar would have occurred. That part of the world is just going through it's reformation, like we did in the 16th Century. I'm sure in another 400 years, they're be jolly nice people too.

@10,11,12 Sad toads. How's all your drought, slowing economy, high inflation, strikes, high utility bills, train crash, lower consumer confidence, corruption. Life must really be fun. As long as it lasts. How IS life in the “villas”? Our inflation has reached 5%. How's your 25%? Getting a little desperate are we? By the way, don't have to work. Retired. Still driving the BMW. Still got the 50 inch, widescreen plasma tv. Still got the house made of real bricks. How are you guys doing?

@22 I would suspect O'Gara was shown the door. All that rubbish about shopping and 'everyone feels rich in Argentina' undermined the credibility of the character 'it' was playing. (I swear O'Gara was a woman). Not to mention all that fake Irish stuff.
