    i dont think the article is about that. I think it is trying to illustrate that RGland went from being “of concern” to being “of major concern”. I dont read anything above that says the US is not of any concern.

    In other words it is just saying RGLand got worse....which is of no surprise thanks to The Botox Reich!

    @2 I agreed the article is just showing how argentina went from being a concern to a primary concern.

    Though every country has problems with criminal money laundering, its not just these 66, but obviously the USA can not moniter all countries so they pick and choose to be honest. Why the isle of man is on there or why the UK and France are on there when each have a good record of anti money laundering and detecting and bringing to justice such money launderers is beyond me. Money laundering, is to be honest, much more common place in the USA than in the UK, France or Isle of Man. But of course they are not going to include themselves of their own lists that includes foreign countries only.

    Considering they actively refuse to engage with the FATF then it's not surprising that they are seen as a 'major concern'. Argentinia is so desperate for foreign exchange funds that it's up there with North Korea in it's desperation. What with the Central Bank now being used as a personal account of the Arg-Mafiosa, then it can only get worse.

    I think, with money laundering being such a world-wide phenomenon,
    the list should comprise 'those nations of NO international concern'.
    It would be quite a short list.

    Ah Mohammeds not thinking anymore eh!

    This is just rubbish, 50% of the international money laundering activities are made in USA lot of banks have being involved in this like Wachovia Bank. Entire cities like Miami have been made of narco dollars, mafia money and other illegal activities.

    If they are not able to put they house in order how they can be monitoring other countries?

    You will not contradict what an honest Brit has to say about it.

    “Woods feels unable to rest on his laurels. He tours the world for a consultancy he now runs, Hermes Forensic Solutions, counselling and speaking to banks on the dangers of laundering criminal money, and how to spot and stop it. “New York and London,” says Woods, “have become the world’s two biggest laundries of criminal and drug money, and offshore tax havens. Not the Cayman Islands, not the Isle of Man or Jersey. The big laundering is right through the City of London and Wall Street.”

    It is easier to launder money through places where a lot of money passes through (i.e London).

    It is not new news, been going on for years and will continue to do so!

    @brit abroad
    It is not easy without the complicity of the bankers. And that is the reason why banks look for places with minimum or no regulation. So money flows a usual.
