    Always like Peruvians.
Your enemy's enemy is also your friend and all that.
I see Rockhopper is on the rise again.
Anybody got any views on Border. I was told FOGL was a better bet.

It's rather ironic that the Argentines were happy about oil exploration while there was an agreement in place to share the revenues.

Now they've unilaterally torn that up it has somehow become theft of their natural resources and an illegal unilateral action while there remains a sovereignty dispute.

Where's Think when I've something to say to him? I expect he's on the evening shift at the Observatory. So, would the day shift operator kindly pass on a message from Admiral McDoD at handover? “Ref @1 - Mare ditat rosa decorat”.

Cristina Fernández de Kirchner the current disaster president of Argentina
and the other Argentina crooks are her vice-president, Amado Boudou, he is actually an owner of the company that prints money for the government in Argentina, a major conflict of interest, but he denies it, he owns the company in the names of other friends and associates. He is being investigated and surely will end up in jail where he belongs. Cristinas 2 VERY UGLY children, Maximo and Florencia Kirchner, are also very corrupt. Maximo owns all kinds of hotels and properties adn Florencia is a film student in New York and lives in a luxury Park Avenue apartment and is known for major cocaine use. Some of us who know her in New York remember how she always used to tell us how her parents have a bank account drawn on the Nation of Argentina and for her family money is no object. These 2 corrupt children of Cristina Kirchner are self proclaimed “militants”, they belong to 2 internal terrorist groups which Cristina Kirchner finances, “La Cámpora” and “Quebracho”. “La Cámpora” goes around to the poor shantytowns around the cities in Argentina and gives the poor people a bag of groceries, a sausage sandwich called “choripan” and $20 pesos to buy their votes. These people have no choice but to accept this as they are extremely poor and have no other hope. “Quebracho” is a terrorist group which Cristina Kirchner pays to protect her, they disguise their faces and go around shaking down businesses to get money and give back to the president. They are also responsible for drug dealing, robberies and murders.

@6 That would be a red duster then would it? Anyway, the wheels of oil exploration turn significantly quicker than the wheels of the Argentinian Treasury Solicitor, so we could have thirty or forty more wells dug before the first of her subpoenas is served on anyone.

And it's unlike you to miss an opportunity to give investment advice. @3 would probably welcome your unique insight as to exactly which oil company it is that will be the first to have its day in court.

    Do carry on, Cabo

Good, good, Argentina humiliates another of their neighbours and makes them look like complete pussies in front of their own people and the wider community.
Is this what passes for 'diplomacy' where you come from?
I'd say Peru has more in common with Uruguay than anywhere else as far as allowing themselves to look like complete saps.
I can see why our tiny defiant community gets right up your noses.

@1 Great job Lorton, working overtime to correct your blog? :-))))))
In a display of “Latin American support for Argentina’s legitimate rights,” the Peruvian government has announced its decision to render void the protocol visit of a British frigate scheduled to dock in a Peruvian port this week.

“This decision has been made to honour our commitment with the Unasur and a Latin American support for Argentina’s legitimate rights regarding the Malvinas, South Georgia and South Sandwich islands, and their surrounding maritime territories,” Peruvian Foreign Minister Rafael Roncagliolo said in a brief statement to news agencies

@17 Yes, since you ask. I wish you would let us know us know, in your assessment, which company is the one that has recently come to an agreement with Falkland Oil & Gas? Mrs McDoD say's it's Anadarko, who are just waiting to be free from Brazil before they agree to be named but I think its Repsol. No rush for an answer, next time you are on shift will do.

    @16 Marcos Alejandro: Better translation:

“In a display of toadying support for Argentina’s laughable claims,” the Peruvian government has announced its decision to render void the protocol visit of a British frigate scheduled to dock in a Peruvian port this week.

“This decision has been made contrary to the wishes of the Peruvian Congress following three hours listening to KFC screaming down the phone at me, but she's promised if she ever gets her thieving hands on the Falkland Islands, she'll see to it that I'll be able to retire to the Bahamas with more cash than I could ever dream of, and more cocaine than Maradona could stick up his nose in a month”.

Let me first express my most profound 'Spanish Shame' (vicarious embarrassment) about the vulgar comment at (23).........

I must say again that I’m just an under-average Argie without monies or influence…..

But, as you ask for my assessment about which company optioned with FOGL, I would guess that you both should look much closer to home….

    My respects to the Missus….

Something fishy here Cdr, you must question your Missus and get to the bottom of it. You cannot trust these Spaniards they could lie for well England and in your case he probably has.

    Stinka says
I must say again that I’m just an under-average Argie without monies or influence…..

Obviously as an “under average Argie” his fandangle must be tiny. Goodness me, do you reckon he pays for it ?
