#1 - If nothing else, this should finally shatter all illusions that Argentina's former owners give a damn about them.

Yet another enemy that the RG's have made. It'll be one less source of income for the RG's to rape and pillage if Spain can get their way.

when oh when is someone going to do something about RG land?

@5 they're not making an enemy. Spain is like their pet dog; whenever the argentinians tell them to roll over, they roll over. Spain will let the Argentinians rape and pillage their own companies until there is nothing left and the Spanish will still be there waiting to be fed by it's argentinian owner.

    No-balls country is no-balls.

Let's wait and see. What does Spain need most right now? It needs money. So an attack on Repsol-YPF is an attack on a source of money for Spain. Therefore an attack on Spain. As interference with Spanish (Galician) fishing vessels becomes interference with a Spanish food supply. I reckon that, sooner or later, some people in Spain are going to stand up and slap back. I seem to recall that when argieland sought Spanish support over the Falkland Islands, Spain declined to give it!

@7 The only analogy that is befitting of Spain is that it is basically tied to a barrel with its trousers down and Argentinian men in leather hanging around, having party-time.

I think, as long as Spain has this stupid claim over Gibraltar, she knows that back up from the European union would be very difficult,
especially as the British government would almost certainly block any moves to help her,
The trouble with greedy self interested debunk countries then have claims over there supposed friends territory, is that it has a nasty habit of coming back to haunting you,
    Just a ghostly thought .

It is not in Argentina´s interest to upset Spain at this moment. If they
want Spanish support in Europe they should not mess around with Spain.
It is not very intelligent. I really think that they should not invest in South America as their investments are not safe. Invest in North America would be the right thing to do.

But the Kirchner government are constantly upsetting those they should be keeping on side: the only possible conclusion is that they are not very intelligient!
