You don't seem to comprehend that other than a few of us that have a historical interest in the Falklands the rest of the Brtitish population have no real interest in the subject. If it weren't for Kirchner constantly banging on about the issue it would never be a topic in the British press or parliament.

The most you could say is that Kirchner is giving Cameron a golden opportunity - it is not of his making.

@Jorge,think and co. The events over here are very low - key, memorial services remembering our servicemen who paid the ultimate sacrifice to free the Falklands from your facist occupation.

Meanwhile in Argentina....the event is celebrated as a honourable and just war while CFK grandstands on the world stage. You then go the extra mile by having some riots near the British embassy.

@18 Moving ones money around to make it work better is a fantastic idea that enables economic self-reliance and an ability to ease the burden on the state. It is a very liberating activity.

Unfortunatly in Argentina the gvt is limiting its own citizens the right to do what they wish with their own cash. Why should they stop such individual economic freedom if Argentina is really a stable and economically prosperous country? Is personal wealth soon going to be a state asset like peoples pensions have become?

Next they will be taking passports off people so they cannot spend any of their money outside of Argentina?

Talk about walking blindly into a police state.

I can see that my comment No. (4) written to my fellow South-American Mr. Ynsere has incited some turnipy answers………..

The term ”Colateral Damage” is, as most of us know, a quite novel Anglo idiom……….

That makes it evident that I was not referring to events that occurred some 1,500 years ago….. or 500 years ago…….or 50 years ago……

I was referring to the “Colateral Damage” that valiant Anglo troops are inflicting TODAY, as we speak……, that means ……………….… just now.

“Colateraldamaging” every day elderly people, women and children……

Many of those valiant Anglo troops learn how to “Colateral Damage” in Malvinas.

Yes………. valiant Anglo Bride and Baby killers trai TODAY in Malvinas in the noble art of “Colateraldamaging” with the full acceptance and complicity of the British civilian squatters on them Islands………

    @Skåre,
señor Think says that he is a first generation Argentine with Danish & Swedish ancestry(parents?)
Although he is a born liar & hates us with a passion, l believe him to be Danish or at least Danish Argentine.
l have visited Denmark & never found anyone like him.
The older people were all very pro-British, remembering WWII.
Think delights in calling us “brutish” instead of British & he wants to remove us all from the Falklands & replace us with Argentines.
He keeps/kept bringing up the evils of the old British Empire just to prove how murderous he thinks we are.
ln defence l pointed out how murderous his Viking ancestors were.
    Everyone was in those days.
One of his pet stories was the British bombardment of Copenhagen in the Napoleonic wars.
So to counter his propaganda l've been reminding him of the Danish invasions of England in the 9th,10th & 11th centuries.
Although l wouldn't admit it to him, England actually benefited from those invasions.
lt improved our genetic pool.(by rape & marriage!)
Many Danes settled in England also.
To the Saxons, the word Danes covered all Scandinavians.
Just to explain to you, Skåre about my remarks about Copenhagen.
    Peace

@47 To be fair Borges would have referred to modern Argentinians as oppressed servile cruel idiots. He would have also noted the following:
    “Bellboys babbling orders” - Timmerman
“portraits of caudillos” - Massive pictures of Nestor and KFC
“prearranged cheers or insults” - malvinas argentinas!
“walls covered with names” - La Campora graffiti of YPF is Argentine
“unanimous ceremonies” - Ushuaia statement of malvinas-demands
“mere discipline usurping the place of clear thinking” - La Campora

The fact is, Jorge Borges would be upset with the modern dictatorial Argentina. So yes, I think I'm better than those folks.

Well, I still don't believe him. As you say, any visit to Denmark will show you that the population is almost 100% pro-British, just as we are in Noway. We share the same gratitude to our British cousins for their sacrifices on our behalf.

Denmark made the UK's entry to the EU a precondition of their own entry and on UN and NATO missions around the world, Danish troops always serve under British command ... right down to having their own little Camp Viking within Britain's Camp Bastion in Helmand province.

Danes are immensely proud of the fact that the Jutes and Angles were Danish peoples, that they gave the English their language and have been an integral part of British society for 1800 years.

Of course there has been the occasional family squabble; but far from making them enemies, it brings them closer together.

... plus, as you have already alluded to, we really can't ignore the fact that Norway and much of Sweden were actually under Danish rule for much of the last 2000 years, there is the minor detail of Denmark and the Danish kings actually having a far longer and far more savage history of colonialism than any of their neighbours, including the UK .. and that as far as overseas dependent territories goes, no country has a greater dependent overseas territories than Denmark still does today (not only that, but those territories are less independent than the Falklands are today, but despite actually having a pre-colonisation indigenous population have been removed from the United Nations list of Non-Self-Governing Territories because they don't have deranged neighbours like Argentina objecting to that removal on totally manufactured grounds) .

    (52) Cher lsolde
    1) Señor ”Think” is indeed a first generation Argentinean with Swedish ancestry (Min søte farmor Hervor….http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hervor )
But, he NEVER said he was Danish………………. You just assumed that.

    2) Señor ”Think” reserves the “BRUTISH” denomination to all those UK citizens and subjects of the Queen that, on these pages, share with us their wet dreams about Argentina’s obliteration by the hand of Her Majesty’s Gallant Armed Forces.
All other UK subdits, he calls British………….

    (56) Kjære liten Skåre
    1) Señor Think is Argentinean. His allegiance lies with Argentina, especially when Argentina is right...... As in the Malvinas Issue.
    Then………………..…............................. he is Scandinavian.

    2) Scandinavians (Herunder slekten min) are immensely proud of the fact that we have smashed Englishmen skulls by the millions , raped all of their pretty, fluffy sheep and cannibalized their fatty, flowery-polyester dressed women for the best part of the last 1,300 years……. not 1,800 years as you wrongly write.

    You are a history Turnip……………….:
The Danes collaborated “big time” with the German occupation troops until 1944.
They collaborated so effectively that Montgomery considered Denmark “Enemy Territory” just after the end of the WWII….
The only honorable exception was the little but effective resistance movement organized and run by the Danish Communist Party.
    Norway……………………..................…. A totally different story.

You are a Beer Turnip too……………….:
Danish Carlsberg and Tuborg lagers are mostly Chemical Industrial Products, spawned on the base of maize and rice…..

And actually it is 1800 years you cretin. The Angles and Jutes started arriving in Britain 500 years before the Vikings and were already rulers of most of England long before the Vikings came. But hey, thanks for showing yourself up as being a totally clueless and pig-ignorant dipshit.

Now that Think has suddenly changed his allegiance to Sweden, he introduces a rather delightful hypocrisy; because there was actually an Anglo-Swedish alliance in place when the British fire-bombed Copenhagen .. and in fact the attack was coordinated with Sweden keep access to the Baltic open so that the British navy could help to protect Sweden and Russia from the French (who had ordered Denmark to go to war against England and Sweden).

There is also the inconvenience of a little thing called the Swedish Empire, which as well as Finland, Norway, most of the Baltic states and parts of what is now Russia and Germany, also included colonies in Africa and America. I am sure he wont be to forward about that :p

I'm afraid it's not so much that Brits, Islanders, Uruguayans, Chileans, Paraguayans and Brazilians dislike Argentina as that Argentina has made itself disliked by all the above on account of aggression and attempted bullying. The process started many years ago, but seems to have taken on momentum as of the second half of the 20th Century.
This is meant as an objective observation, not a personal insult. So please don't call me “Malvinista”, Argentine, Brit or Falklander because I'm none of the above. I'm Uruguayan.

You are pretty right about your analysis of why Argentina was/still is somehow disliked in South-America.

We Argentineans know it perfectly and that’s why, among many other reasons, we took a calculated risk in 1983 and started a deep process of demilitarization.

An ongoing process, to recreate confidence among our neighbors.

Argentina has today zero (0) chances to “Bully” anybody……….
As a matter of fact, most of the other South-American countries could “Bully” us if they so wished.

So, please, try for a minute to ”Think out of your Yoruga box” and make an effort to perspectivize the many concrete steps that have been taken for peace and integration in our area during the last 30 years.

If Pepe can so can you.

114 SussieUS----- I don't expect one word from him to explain why we helped the Americans to invade Iraq. Unlike Argentina invading the Falkland's who would have colonized the Islands if we would have let them, both We British along with Americans and a few other free countries invaded Iraq to free its people from quite a nasty tyrant who had exploited Iraq for decades, a little bit if you like what Argentina's tyrants have been doing over the last 100 years or so. And unlike Argentina who would have stayed on the Falkland's both we British and the Americans have left Iraq.

Perhaps we British should invade Argentina to free its people from its tyranny and put that country on a more stable foothold. After all, it seems you are incapable of governing yourselves properly if the last 100 odd years are anything to go by.

However, I don't expect for one moment in time that you and the rest of the rabble that can’t elect a proper government to govern in your name to fully understand how it all works after all most of you are a sandwich short of a picnic.

Oh and as for you asking if we could forgive and move on, well we would if would be allowed to but idiots in your country and in your Governments won’t let the matter drop they insist that the Falkland's somehow belong to Argentina when we have proved time and time again that France, Spain, have more claim on the islands than you lot. And take it from me someone who had to sail down to that part of the world 30 years ago, we don't trust you we don't like you and we won’t be caught off guard the next time you decide to invade and invade you will when you get the chance be it ten years from now or fifty years from now.

Now does that answer your question?

    120 - Dear Think
I wish I could believe you! But only two or three years ago, when NK's “environmentalist” hirelings were blockading the FrayBentos-Gualeguaychú international bridge, the Argentine army “happened” to organise maneuvers for the amphibious crossing of a river ... Uruguayan president Vázquez saw fit to ask the US for military help if necessary.
So you see, my friend: apparently Argentina does not have the wherewithal to take on the Brits or even cross several hundred miles of ocean waters, but Argentinian forces could easily cross the River Uruguay and invade us. The tiny Uruguayan armed forces (many members of which are on peacekeeping missions in Haiti, the Congo and Sinai) would be unable to resist for more than a day or two. The Commanding Officer of the Uruguayan army has publicly stated that Uruguay would have to resort to guerilla warfare, partly modelled on British plans for the event of a German invasion during WW2.
Lucky Falklanders! Wish Uruguay had British protection.
Chile has nearly come to blows with Argentine on several occasions. Paraguay has actually had territory stolen by Argentina. The Brazilians consider Argentina a joke.
It will take several generations for Argentina to gain a good reputation with its neighbours, but I do hope it happens.

Bush lied to all invading Iraq on April 13, 2003 stating that Hussein had WMD. He killed more people in 9 years of war for nothing. He killed more inocent people than Sadam Hussien. Because of the Iraq invasion the US is financially broke!
Because of Bush expending on such invasion, the “food stamps” US President Obama annuounced on July 31, 2011 that the federal reserve had only 68 billons not enough to pay the US debts, the military and the US retirees and warned that their retirement checks won't be ready for them to collect on August 3, 2011. Congress approved 3 trillon from foreign countries to keep the US afloat until this fiscal year of July 2012. Because of the Iraq invasion the US has 24 millons unemployed, 44 millons on food stamps, 26 millons living below under poverty level and there is no light at the end of tunnel. This year the US might default from its obbligation to pay the foreing debt. State like Arizona, Nevada and California had to sell their building to obtain cash. Libraries hours are reduced. Public transportation is reduced. The State of Nevada face a 24 millons dollars reduction for education. This means hundred of teacher will face unemployment. Shelters are crowed with the unemployed people that have lost their jobs and homes. Personal bunkruptcy and home foreclosure continues.
And you dare to say that the UK help the US to invade Iraq because Hussein killed some of his oponents? Face the facts.
It does not make any sense to invade a country without having in consideration the financial cost that each US citizen and future generations will have to pay. The 15 trillon foreign debt is the largest in history.

The US won't send me no where. I travel when I feel like it.
I am a citizen of these two countries. I have dual nationalities and I owe alliance to the US and Argentina. These are the best countries in the world.
I support Argentina claim on these islands and support the US demanding negotiations on this disputed issue.
Starvation in Argentina does not exist.
I saw starvation in Bangladesh and in the Phillippines, but never in my country.
The islanders soon will find their wallets empty paying the high cost of shipping their daily neccesities from Chile or Uruguay.

    @125 SussieUS,
